Day 2...

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was day two of our Certified Shop retreat.  I made good progress on my Queen Sized Feathered Star and am excited to show you where I am...

Hopefully, today I will be working on the borders.  Wait until you see what I have planned!!

Roger and Ardelle's work.  Roger is working on the same pattern as me... The Queen Sized Feathered Star, but he is working from the border in, and Ardelle is working on the Mariner's Compass.

Day 2...

Retreat Day 1

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick post to show you a little of what happened on our first day at the Certified Shop Retreat!

Retreat Day 1

On My Way to Being Certifiable...

Hello Everyone,

As you read this I am either getting on a plane or am on my way to Montana!!  You ask, why Montana,   well I will tell you...

As you know I am a Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor and travel nationally to teach her method and technique of paper piecing.  Check it out by clicking here.  As part of that, I teach two very gorgeous Techniques of the Month (TOM).

Now I am on my way to Montana to become one of her Certified Shops!!! Yay!

What does that mean for you?  You will be able to purchase lots more Judy Niemeyer quilt kits in a variety of different color ways, all her patterns, but most of all you will be able to...

Purchase EACH TOM directly from my online shop!  Yes, you will be able to purchase the patterns for the Glacier Star, and the Mariner's Compass right from my site!  And stay tuned for the NEW TOM that will be launched in 2015.

Playing Hooky

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was such a fun day!  My friend Pam had moved away at the end of March.  She only lived 3 miles from me and now she is almost 2 hours!  Pam is now closer to her family in RI.  So it was time for me to get my butt down to see her.  

I went to see her on one of the hottest days of the year and she showed me around!!  Just a beautiful place.  We went for lunch at The Cooked Goose.

I had this wonderful Cobb Salad and then after that...

Pam, her hubby Chris and I all shared this fresh Strawberry Shortcake... Oh my it was DELISH!!

After lunch they took me on a tour of Watch Hill... Let me just say gorgeous!!

This was the Ocean House Hotel... unbelievable!  Right on the ocean... primo land and a 5 star hotel!

Look at this view... Oh my!

There is the ocean.  And guess who has a house just about 2 doors down... Taylor Swift!  Yup, completely equipped with security guards and all.  

Here we are on the porch of the Ocean House, the view behind us was spectacular!

Afterwards, we took a ride in the Mini and did a little shopping in town.

I really had fun playing hooky with my friend Pam!  It was a great day and so nice to see her and her new home!!

If you haven't played hooky in awhile, I highly advise it!!

They Are Coming Along....

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was the second to the last class of the Glacier Star with my private group in CT.  They are all coming along very nicely, but as you will see one of my student's, Vivian, is clearly an over achiever! 

But honestly, she is ahead because she may not make it to the last session.  So let's see what happened yesterday....

Vivian's is looking beautiful!

Vivian also brought along some blocks for show and tell.  She is doing some thread play.  Aren't they gorgeous!

Linda completed a lone star unit!

Katie had enough sewing for one day!

Vivian's quilt... WOW... Simply gorgeous!!

They Are Coming Along....

The Last Class

Hello Everyone,

Saturday was the last class for the Spring Session of the Mariner's Compass Technique of the Month (TOM) and I would like to share with you a few photos.

Michelle travelled from NJ to take this class with me and this is her gorgeous version!  

Noreen and Nancy working to construct the units together.

This is Noreen's version.  She chose to do the Queen Size and worked on those pieces at home.  I love that she did the borders in black and white fabrics.

Here is a look at what the studio looked like that day.

Shirley's version.  She is almost done... she was having fabric selection issues... LOL!  But I think she finally settled on a final choice so now it should go together beautifully.

Nancy got two wedges together, now for the other six.

Here they are with what they were able to piece for the last class.  Total awesomeness!!!
