Hello Everyone,

I hope that you all had a wonderful long weekend. It was pretty much glorious weather here, but we did have to turn the air on as it has gotten humid quite fast, but I love the heat!!

Anyway, I spent the weekend making a TON of these....

Dark purple batiks, on a light blue batik background. Kind of cool, like my air conditioning.

Tons of pretty piles. Can't show you more just yet, but let's just say I made some squares, TONS of those too!

After today, I will be packing to go on a quilt retreat and I just can't wait!!! One of my yearly events with my quilty buddies and it is just days of non stop sewing and chit chat.

Randomness... A Winner... and Another Giveaway!!

Hello Everyone,

First, I must apologize, the second part of my post for the Artful Hands Quilt Guild will be the next post. Because first I have a few exciting things to tell you.

The winner of the Barefoot In the Park pattern is...

Lucky # 104 which is Angela!! Congratulations Angela!!

Next up, many of you may know my friend Marie Bostwick. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet... and talented too! I have the pleasure of living close to her and being able to see her quilty creations and even quilting them for her! Plus, I also was able to read her NEWEST book, Threading the Needle.

The book is due out on Tuesday, May 31, but you can Pre-Order it from your local bookstore or any online book seller. Trust me it won't disappoint. If you have read her previous books in the Cobbled Court Series, this is another must.

So last week I went over to her house to sit down once again with Marie and talk all about her new book and her next one that is in the works. Yes, the next one already.

You can listen to our interview in my newest podcast of Jackie's Quilting Chronicles.

It is Episode #25 and you can listen from your computer by clicking here or you can download it from iTunes.

But being the nice person that Marie is... she gave me TWO autographed copies of her book to give to two lucky winners!!

So if you would like to enter the giveaway you...

My next post will definitely be about the Artful Hands Quilt Guild. Oh, and don't forget...
today is the LAST day of the 15% off sale in the shop. Click here for the details.

***Thank you to all who entered, the giveaway is now closed.***

Artful Hands Quilt Guild - The Trunk Show

Hello Everyone,

Tuesday night I had such a fun time! I did a lecture and trunk show in Mansfield, MA to a wonderful group of ladies that belong to the Artful Hands Quilt Guild. I love that name! Thank you so much for having me at your guild, it was a blast!

Anyway, my friend Justine helped me out and she was the photographer for the night. So I weeded through the photos and took the best ones because there were many were I had my mouth wide open or a goofy look on my face. (Thanks, Justine... LOL!) Mind you that is not at all abnormal for me, to look like that.

Onto to the show...

My "Fabulous" Quilt... totally my colors!

Kaffe Bordered Diamonds.

An oldie but a goodie, I paper pieced this one ages ago can you tell? All old calicoes.

My daughter's Christmas gift 2010, black, white, and teal Hunter's Star Quilt.

My Pop Squares Quilt.

This was a challenge quilt that I did for one of my quilting retreats.

Rainbow Kaffe.

Black, White and Orange Wheel Quilt.

Judy Niemeyer's Fourth of July.

Chocolate Raspberry Truffle A.K.A ... A Touch of Spring. Another Judy Niemeyer pattern.

This one was inspired by the border batik. I just loved the pattern.

Colors of Peru.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post. The talented ladies of the guild had a show and tell!

Now for a surprise...

Would you like to win this Kona Cotton fat quarter bundle given away by me?? Just go over to my friend Alison's Blog Cluck, Cluck, Sew for all the details!!

Silk Block Complete

Hello Everyone,

Before I talk about the beauty you are going to see, if you are in Mansfield, MA tomorrow (5/24) , I will be doing a lecture at the Artful Hands Quilt Guild. I would love to say hello! Now onto the silk beauty.

First, I must say, I LOVE this block!! Remember the other day when I was playing with the silks and just making the block, not knowing where it was going... Well...

This is what it looks like. Vibrant and bright silks, wonky, tiny little scraps, just making my heart sing. I hope that it makes Julie's heart and lab coat sing!!

The block finished at 6" square. So some of those pieces are really tiny. But soooo worth it, and it is on its way to be part of Julie's lab coat.

I have to say, I had a very hard time putting it in that envelope and sending it off. I did it quick, like when you rip a band aid off. The pain only lasts a second or two... LOL.

Don't forget to enter the giveaway for the gorgeous reversible quilt pattern by Stephanie. Just click here for the details on how to enter. Today is the LAST day to enter!! So hurry!!

Also, don't forget that everything is on sale in my online shop this week! 15% off using the code take15 at checkout. The only thing it doesn't apply to is Kona Cotton Solids... they are already cheap. Just click here to get started.

Have a great day!!

Until Next Time...

Barefoot in The Park Quilt and Giveaway!!

Hello Everyone,

Several months ago, my friend Stephanie of Loft Creations sent me her quilt Barefoot in The Park for me to quilt on the Longarm. So I was able to see this beauty a while ago.

She used Amy Butler Soul Blossoms to create this quilt. You can purchase this in my shop!

It is completely reversible!

I chose a feather design to quilt on this beauty! I totally can see myself being Barefoot in the Park with this quilt.

Stephanie is being kind enough to giveaway one of her patterns for this quilt!!

You MUST CLICK HERE to enter the giveaway!

***Thank you to all who entered the giveaway, it is now closed.***

Playing With Silks... Again!!

Hello Everyone,

So a little while ago, Julie had asked me to make a little block for her White Coat Project. As many of you know, life happened here at Canton Village Quilt Works, and I couldn't get my act together. But none the less, I had something in my mind... silks!! Most of you know I have a "not so secret" affection for silks.

Oh yes, silks will be just the thing to jazz up her white lab coat. How cool would that be to have silks on your lab coat? Really cool, at least I think so! I hope she does too.

The block doesn't need to be too big, but I think it definitely needs to be a little wonky. So these are some of my little pieces leftover from my Lil' Twister project. They are going into this block.

So far this is what I have... but definitely more "wonk" to come. Plus it is too small as is, it is growing.

Aren't the silks wonderful? I do enjoy the look and the feel! Stay tuned for the final block!

***Heads UP! Today is the last day of the You Decide Sale. Read all about it on the home page of the shop website. Just click here.***
