Knockout Neutrals and BIG Giveaway!

Hello Everyone,

When my friend Pat Wys asked me to join in on her blog hop, I was truly delighted!  Pat of Silver Thimble Quilt Company has written her second book on neutrals and it is a beauty!

Have you ever tried to work with neutrals in your projects?  If not, this book might just give you the inspiration to give it a try.

The cover of her book is just beautiful.  Can't you just see curling up in that chair by the fire with that lovely quilt?  This quilt is called Road Trip and is actually one of my favorites in the book.  I will highlight it  below.

Many of you know how much I LOVE black and white and yes! they can act as neutrals.  Pat talks about the value of value in her book and points out what makes a neutral.  Funny thing is that I look at her Day and Night quilt and I would love to make up this design in so many different ways.  First with the black and white with little pops of color in various spots.  One other way, is to the whole quilt in bright, fun, and funky colors.  What do you think?

Here is Road Trip, the quilt on the cover.  I love this block and think it looks fantastic in the neutrals that she used.  This is another one, where the design can be utilized in so many different ways.

Arboretum is a phenomenal design.  I always loved the Tree of Life quilt block and the way that Pat designed this quilt around this block is just wonderful.  I love the variations in sizes and it does so well with the neutrals.

This book offers such a wide variety of patterns and designs.  Pat has simply pieced quilts and then challenges you with more intricate designs, and then has hand pieced blocks and appliqué as well.  She covers a broad spectrum of quilting in this book.

It is a MUST have in your quilting library!!

Oh and there is a GIVEAWAY too...

To celebrate the release of this new book, Pat Wys is sponsoring an amazing giveaway.
One lucky winner will receive an autographed copy of "Knockout Neutrals", signed by Pat Wys, a spool of Aurifil thread (neutral of course) and a “Knockout Bundle” of 15 fat quarters ( 5 dark value, 5 medium value and 5 light value) to help kick start you make any project in this wonderful new book.

A teacher once told me that if she judged a quilt show and she had two quilts, one with neutrals n one without, she would pick the one without. That neutrals had no place in quilts. That we could pick a small print that almost looked neutral. So since then I don't put neutrals in my quilts. But I have seen so many quilts lately with neutrals that I am rethinking this idea. I am wanting to buy some n get started. Hope I win.
