The Caravan is Here!!

Hello Everyone,

I bet you all remember this post. I was in search of an out of print book that wasn't going to cost me an arm and a leg! Lots of great suggestions but nothing panned out.

Then along came Marian from the U.K.!! She sent me a private e-mail saying she had the book and would be willing to send it to me NO strings attached. How gracious and kind of her. Thank you so much Marian!! All I have to say is watch your mailbox!

Well it arrived this week!! I am so ecstatic!

Not only is the book in pristine condition, but she sent two packages of Cadbury bunnies. You will notice only one in the picture. The first one barely made it out of the envelope. Yum!

After leafing through the book, I may be persuaded to make the Beaded Curtain Quilt first. I first saw this on Wanda's blog. I enjoyed watching her progress and loved the quilt. You can see her quilt here.

A simple design with lots of impact. We all know that I have tons of Kaffe fabric that will work just great. Now I just added another project to my long list of projects. But this gives me lots to look forward to throughout the years.

So, how many projects do you have on your list??

Until Next Time...

I don't have that Kaffe book either, but my friend Ricci does. Sometimes I go over there to just peruse.
Too many projects in the line up to even be able to count! Ack!

That is one of the really neat things about being on line and blogging - people from all over the world see what we want and can't find and sometimes respond. So glad you are got the book that you wanted. I remember that quilt when Wanda posted it.

I have so many projects on my list that I can't see from one end to another. Love the quilt and am looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

You and I must think alike -- I have Wanda's Beaded Curtain quilt bookmarked as a favorite. And you should see the list of bookmarked pages I have -- more projects than I will ever have time to do (unless I give up housework completely -- which actually isn't a bad idea)!
How wonderful that Marian sent you the goodies...

How sweet of Marian! And I'm not just talking about the chocolate bunnies. Gosh, the project narrowing down process is so difficult when there are so many great books, patterns, ideas out there -- but this one is a sure winner to add to your list. Visual punch!

gosh, that book is sitting right behind me on the shelf and I didn't even remember that I had it. Are you kidding? How many projects? I'm not sure I can even quantify them!!

My first day of retirement, five years ago, I sat down and made a list of all of the things I wanted to do but never had time while working. I saw the handwritten list a couple of weeks ago and have found that I've only completed one thing off a list of twenty items. New and exciting things have gotten in my way. But, like you, I'll always have things to look forward to.

Darn Cadbury bunnies just hop away to quickly! *L*...yummmmm

I have three big new projects on my list right now, but I'm stuck here doing Star Crazy blocks. If I'd get to it, instead of reading blogs, it would go a lot faster, right?

So glad someone finally found it for you. Now I can stop my search. Have a great weekend.

I tend to go for intricate designs with small pits and pieces - like the beaded curtain - and I have a short attention span - so I have more projects on the go than I care to even count up. I can only work on one at a time, a little of this and a little of that. However I am building a collection of Kaffe Fassett fabric (I got those I ordered from you today, thank-you very much) and will be looking for a pattern for them down the road. I'll be watching for your beaded curtain.

Crazy how much some of the out-of-print books go for, isn't it? I have more projects on my to do list than I'll live long enough to get to.

That's one of the main reasons I love quilting... trust, friendship, unspoken. There's a willingness to work together which needs no words.
