More Layouts

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share with you a few more examples of the Hunter's Star. These are some photos that I took while at class at QBTY.

This first photo is a 3 color or 3 fabric version of a Hunter's Star. Laura (our teacher) made this table runner to demonstrate using the 3 colors for this pattern. It looks much different than a 2 color or 2 fabric version. Just lovely!

Here is my friend Maria modeling one of her completed blocks. She chose to make a 2 fabric version. If you click on the picture to enlarge you will see that the fabrics she chose are tone on tone. She is making a lap size version for her son in law to be! Lucky guy!

Yet another 2 color version from another student in the class. Beautiful in blue and white.

So Maria worked hard in class and was able to get all these blocks completed and up on the wall. Doesn't it look fantastic! I am telling you this ruler is the best!

Here is another student's red and white version. Just gorgeous! So I know that you all would like the link again for the ruler. Just click here to go to the site for the Petite Rapid Fire Hunter's Star ruler. Don't forget to look at Deb Tucker's gallery while you are there.

Also, don't forget to check out the NEW Kaffe, Philip, Brandon, and Martha fabrics that I just added to my online shop. I know you will just love them!

Until Next Time...

I always enjoy seeing blocks or projects made up in different colors. They seem to have a whole new look about them. Thanks for sharing.

A question about the ruler: Are the instructions clear enough that a person can figure it out without having taken the class? I bought the Square in a Square ruler one time and can't figure it out at all nor can the quilt shop where I got it, so I am stuck with that and not able to use is. I vowed not to let that happen again with any other tool I purchased! These blocks surely look great!!!

what a wonderful looking block. I really like it in the two colours when there is a big contrast.

My Mom made (or should I say, started) the Hunter's Star, w/o the ruler but was put off by all the pieces involved...that was enough to stop me though I love that pattern...I will definitely be investing in a ruler! I'd also love to take her Carolina Lily class

This is very pretty. I haven't tried this block, but if you can strip piece it, that sounds great!

Wonderful pattern and lovely table runner!
I'm not good in 'reading' pattern so I always admire people who works on it.

All turned out wonderful, but Maria's is my favorite. Soemthing about Red and White as a two color quilt just call to me.

Wow -- that three color version does make a difference, doesn't it? I LOVE the two color versions -- VERY pretty!

The quilt pattern is really great and I loved both versions. I love scrappy quilts so I'd have to try out the 3 color version first. It's so hard to pick though because I love both.
