Stacks O' Progress

Hello Everyone,

Well I have been busy at my sewing machine and also some hand stitching. In between all of that I have been busy with customer quilts too. New ones were added to my gallery check them out!

But I wanted to share the progress I have made on my Judy Niemeyer quilt, A Touch of Spring first. During the day, I tend to use my sewing machine more than hand stitching. I reserve the hand stitching for night, so that I can be with my family. How about you???

Here is what I accomplished so far... Lots more arcs only four more to go!!

Another view to show some detail.

Those perfect points, they are pretty much guaranteed with paper piecing!!

Now onto the night time work... I have been having a blast with my hexies!! I am soooo addicted. Right now I have eleven completed flowers for my grandmother's flower garden. I know I have a ton more to do, as this is going to be for our guest bedroom, it is a double bed! Don't you just love this pretty little stack?

All fanned out for a better view...

This last picture is of 1/2 of a full flower complete! This will be done tonight, no bones about it!

I am just loving my current projects, but I know that I have a ton of UFO's to complete as well. Don't forget to sign up for my monthly newsletter. Click on the widget on my sidebar to do so. My current newsletter is available online here. The next one will be on its way next week.

Well, I must get back to work now! I just love what I do! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Until Next Time....

Your Judy N. pieces are coming along nicely. The reds are beautiful. And isn't making a GFG relaxing? It's the first quilt I made and it spurred me on to the world of quilting.

Your Judy quilt is looking awesome. I used one of the same batik's in my Bella quilt with the rest in completely different colors. Interesting to see how it works with different colors. Hexies are multiplying!

You are so very, very productive! I wish my little hexagons would multiply like yours.

Well, we love what you do too!! I love to hand quilt at night also! I love your projects, and the points are perfect not because of the paper but because of you!! Love your hexes!!

My goodness, I'm oohing and aahing here,if I didn't have my current hand projects I'd be tempted by the hexes, they look delicious. Your paper pieced project is amazing to look at too, I'm a big fan of paper piecing.

Those arcs are so pretty. Love the hexagons.

I'm not a lover of paper piecing but those perfect points are a real turn on. You are moving right along with the hexagons. It took me 2 years to finish my Grandmother's Garden, piecing and quilting. Love your choice of prints. I too like to do handwork in the evenings.

I so love your choice of fabrics for the JN quilt. Wow...it's going to be really stunning! Interesting how you can go from JN to hexagons...in the same post. Such a different mindset!

Your Touch of Spring quilt is looking very interesting. Paper piecing certainly does allow you to make nice points. Can't wait to see this put together. The hexagons are very nice too. I also use my sewing machine during the day and save the hand sewing for the evenings so that I can be with my family and also have something to do if I am watching television.

I have a English paper pieced Hex project going too...many years in the making! Both your projects are really great.

Wendy said...

You've been busy. Your projects are looking great! I do save my hand stitching for in front of the TV to be with my family.

Arlette said...

Both projects are gorgeous. I especially love the fabrics that you've chosen for your hexies. The flowers are so pretty it makes my heart skip a beat!
Aloha!

Hand-sewing is addictive!!!! I just love your work! Paper piecing is the way to go too. I love the precision. I don't mind removing the paper even from a queen sized quilt if it is gonna mean such perfect points!
