Spring To Finish #2

Hello Everyone,

I hope all of you who live in the U.S. had a wonderful Memorial Day! This, of course, is a day where we remember and celebrate those men and women who have fought and are fighting for our country.

My family went to our town parade. I wanted to share one picture I took of those veterans from our town. They are just a few of the proud!

On to quilty happenings... Pop on over here to see 4 newly uploaded photos of customer quilts! They won't disappoint, I promise!

As most of you know, Jacquie is hosting the Spring to Finish challenge. Here is my second one!! WooHOOOO! I finally quilted this one up with some really pretty daisy quilting and bound it. This quilt makes me want to go have a picnic. Just lay it on the ground and start to chow down on some wonderful picnic snacks. What do you think?

This quilt was made with one jelly roll of Mary Engelbreit fabrics. Just yummy!

On the note of another finish... well not quite. It is not quilted yet, but that is a mere technicality. I finished piecing my Judy Niemeyer 4th of July quilt!! Double WooHoo! It is now officially a quilt top! I just love it. Now I just have to piece the backing and throw it on my long arm. Hopefully soon.

My Mom was up this weekend and just loved this quilt. But, sorry Mom, this one is mine. I am working on one for you.

The end of this week, I am off to a quilting retreat with two of my quilting buddies. I am looking forward to a weekend of sewing and fun. So I am getting some projects ready to bring along. I will probably post before I leave and then post all the wonderful happenings when I return.

Until Next Time...

Your quilt is gorgeous and it makes me think of a picnic too although I would never lay it on the ground and actually have a picnic on it! Too much time and money to let it lie on the ground. I'm just particular that way. How about an indoor picnic? That's what I think!

Both quilts are wonderful. Hope you didn't get any food on the picnic quilt! :)

Both quilts are wonderful. The Mary E quilt is a happy quilt and you are so right, it just screams I want to go on a picnic. I love the look it captures of curved piecing, when there are not curves in the seams. Very nice pattern.
And of course the July 4th one is simply amazing. Great choice of colors and the design is incredible.

Your picnic quilt does make me want to go on a picnic...love it, BTW, but OMG, your JN quilt is even BETTER than I thought it would be. It's really, really, gorgeous. Your quilting will only make it that much better. I love how you say it's "a mere technicality"...what a great attitude!

I hope you are having a wonderful time quilting w/ friends. I love to sew w/ people who "get" this obsession of ours! The quilting on Deb's quilt is terrific! And the quilting on June's is perfect for her traditional (and impeccable) work. Thanks for sharing. (I went into the gallery and saw more detail of June's and it is just so great!)

Are you crazy Jackie - I wouldn't put that gorgeous quilt on the ground and then sit on it - and spill food on it!!!

The 4th of July is stunning - you are one multi talented lady. Can't wait to see how you decide to quilt it.

Dawn said...

Oh, yes. I would definitely have a picnic on your gorgeous quilt finish!

Rose Marie said...

What size did your lovely pinic quilt finish at? Your fireworks quilt just sparkles! Will you be using it as a wall hanging? If yes, beads would give it extra zing.
