A Forgotten Thank You and A Favorite Shop

Hello Everyone,

I have to say, I was remiss in posting this thank you to the wonderful Barbara at Quilt Soup. I won a giveaway here at her blog. The winnings were a fat quarter of every fabric in her new Bubblegum Basics line.

Here are some photos...

Yummy!

All together, I just love them!! Bright, happy and cheerful all rolled into one!

So, Barbara, please don't be mad I am so late in thanking you for these wonderful fabrics. I just love them and can't wait to use them all up. You are a genius and I love your work!

Now onto a favorite quilt shop of mine. In my last post, I mentioned that I went shopping for my backing fabric with my friend Pam. Well, we went to one of my favorite quilt shops, Quilting By the Yard. Laura and Michelle own the shop. They are just some of the nicest, most creative and inspiring shop owners that I know. They have a wonderful shop chock full of fabulous fabrics. Here are some great photos.

Here you see Pam shopping for Batiks....

Laurie, works at the shop. She is a very talented quilter and teacher at the shop.

Another view...

Look at all the book and pattern inspiration....

So if you are ever in the area, this shop is a must see. Tell them that Jackie sent you.

On another note, if you would like to see an impeccably done wool and silk quilt, I just updated my gallery. So go check it out by clicking here.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. For those of you enjoying Memorial Day, have a great time at all the BBQ's and parades.

Until Next Time....

I LOVE the fabric you won! What a great line, the colors are so clear. Hmmm, I think I need to do some shopping. One of your favorite shops is one of my favorites too! Whenever we go home to my parents, I always request a trip to Vernon. I have been such a good shopper there that I even have a mug from them. Heehee.

What a lucky girl you are! Barbara's fabrics are so pretty--a girl can't help but smile at them! And that looks like a wonderful shop. A girl could get in a lot of trouble at a place like that. :-)

I just LOVE your delicious stack of fabrics. Now wouldn't it be terrific to hire a bus to take to all the wonderful quilt shops that appear on blogs?

Wow, Jackie, I love all that fabric. Thanks for the pictures of the quilt shop too. My husband just came into the room and I said, "Wait til you see the quilt shop that Jackie just told us about and it's only in Vernon." Well, first I'm saying "Jackie" like he knows you and his second thought must be, another quilt shop!!
Thanks for the link and have a great weekend.

I've been seeing a lot of Bubble Gum Basics on everyone's blogs. And I love Quilt Soup!
Judy N. is getting ready to teach here in St.George. I didn't sign up for her classes because of work. Everyone is buzzing about her arrival and I know all the classes are full.

That shop looks lovely ... I love to see people's local quilt shops.

Looks like a great shop and one that if I am every up your way I will have to check out. Unfortunately, it might be a little bit of a drive from Sough Carolina!

Can you believe that I have never been there?! Thanks for the pictures. I know I will be getting there at some point this summer. I am rolling on the lollypops - 550 2-inch squares cut and sewn in required strips. Now to cut the applique blocks to size and play w/ placement of all of this. Cutting to size might take a while - 16 bigs and 36 smalls. I am unsure how I am going to lay out all the pieces in this overrun house. I may have to put up some CAUTION tape in some area of my house w/ floor space. :)

How fun to win all of Quiltsoup's Bubblegum basics. I love the bright happy colors and designs. I'm nearly done with the quilt using those very same fabrics. I'm excited to show it on my blog very soon. So keep an eye out for it.

Wowza, you hit the mother load! What a fantastic giveaway and such lovely fabric too. Congrats on the win!
Aloha!
P.S. You mentioned to me about your 22 pounder. Unfortunately mine has yours beat by about 8 pounds at last weighing. He's a big, chubby boy but I adore him so. I just wish that he was thinner, for his own health and longevity. What can I say, the boy enjoys his snacks!
