Stacks O' Happiness

Hello Everyone,

During my grand giveaway, I have been busy. I wanted to show you my progress on my strata quilt. I finished ALL the blocks and the quilt is on my design wall! Here are pictures of my beautiful blocks. I just love the colors and the blocks, they make my heart sing.

Here are the hot pink blocks. Jane you should love these.

Here are the half yellow, half hot pink blocks.

Here are the half purple, half pink blocks. Terri you should love these.

Here they all are stacked in one big pile of block goodness.

Here is my scrap pile. Not sure yet what I am going to do with them. Any ideas??

One last item. The day before Christmas these little beauties arrived in my mailbox from Eileen. What a wonderful surprise! They are such a hoot, LOL! They went right on my tree and I absolutely adored them. Thanks so much for thinking of me Eileen. You are great!

On my next post, I will show you my strata quilt on my design wall. Funny thing is when I put it up I was so happy and loved it, but not one member of my family liked it. I think they just can't handle happy colors. They are color deficient....

I hope you are all having a terrific weekend, until next time...

GREAT colors....can't wait to see the blocks on your design wall!

I'm thinking the scraps would make a great string quilt that would make some little girl VERY happy (maybe one who is sick in the hospital).

Those little owls just make me smile. Lovely color piles! Well as long as you're the one happy with your colors and patterns that's all that matters. I think it's going to be very striking!

Love the bright happy colors. The scraps would make a lovely quilt for a little girl or would be a great giveaway.

Oh boy were you right, that pink is a great one and so is the ponk and yellow. I love bright happy colors. As for the scraps, I read on a blog and I am sorry to the person whose blog I do not remember she saves strips from 1/4 to 1 inch and using size 17 knitting needles, she made a rug! I have started to collect pieces I would usually throw out, I want to do that too!!

I think it was Amanda Jean at crazymomquilts who made the rug from strips. I thought that was a good idea, too, and have started saving my little strings, too.

My first thought when I saw the scraps was STARS. (Little scrappy stars like Belinda makes.)

I too am anxious to see what your strata quilt looks like. I always think "string quilt" for leftovers.

I am laughing to myself here. I have been totally addicted to my current project - applique w/ big print fabrics a la Lollypop Trees by Kim McLean. It makes me so happy to work w/ all the colors, shapes, being creative. My husband thought the block was "too busy." Kinda the point, dude. Wait til he sleeps under it! I just love it. I am so glad that you are so enjoying your strata quilt! I am so relating right now. I can wait to see it on the wall. Keep warm today!
