Kutztown Folk Festival Quilt Barn

Hello Everyone,

Every year my family and I make our trek back to Kutztown, PA. This is where my husband is from and where his family lives. We go to see the Kutztown Folk Festival and visit with family. This weekend was extra special as we celebrated my mother in law's 85th birthday!! Lots of family and friends.

But what I really wanted to share with all of my quilty blogging friends is the Quilt Barn at the festival. This is my favorite attraction there. I have entered 2 quilts in the past and each won ribbons!

Anyway, here they are, tons of pics to enjoy...

One of my favorite quilt handlers... Lee!

They always have a quilting bee going on in the middle of the barn.

This year they had this Red Rooster Challenge hanging.

The festival is still running through this coming weekend. And the quilt auction takes place on Saturday. So if you are in the area, definitely make the trek there is much more than just quilts there!! Here is the link to the festival with all the details, just click here.

So which quilt was your favorite??

Oh, one more thing, check out my newest blog post over at Quilt Magazine, just click here, and leave me a comment.

Until Next Time...

Thank you for sharing the pictures.. the quilts are lovely. You'd think living in Shippensburg I could get my act together and remember to get over there... summer is slipping by so quickly.

Hugs!

Wow! What a bunch of talented quilters! I wouldn't want to have to try and choose the winners. However, the Distelfink Log Cabin made me drool. Thanks for the pictures.

I got dizzy just looking at the pictures! So much going on!!! But all lovely. I think my favorite is the one with the black background.
Do the Amish do paper piecing or are they just REALLY careful?
Someday....

They are all wonderful, but the two that made me stop 1) the dresden plate and 2) the nine patch on point.

Beautiful...

If you count from the bottom, I love the 18th one up. White back ground with great quilting.
How fun to be able to see a quilt show while visiting family.

I am so interested in the Farmer's Delight Quilt, the 15th picture on this blog post. How can I get up with the maker? I would like some history on that quilt. Did you notice it's the same pattern as my profile picture? We have history of this pattern in my family. pjgraber at juno dot com

I'm so interested in the Farmer's Delight quilt. We have history of that pattern in our family. We will be showing some of the quilts in a Power Point Presentation & trunk show at the Saturday brunch at the AQS Quilt Show in Knoxville.
