It Truly is AMAZING!

Hello Everyone,

Sunday was a truly wonderful day for me!  Not only did I get to spend with my great friend Deb, but she also helped me clean my studio and get organized!!!

I just love the feeling of freedom and that is exactly how I felt.  I had been living with TONS of scraps under my sewing area and on top of my sewing area, around my sewing area… well you get my point.

Any how… I am now FREE!  Free to move around, free to sew, free to cut, just plain free and darn it feels great!

This is what we started with and we sorted and sorted and sorted….

Deb was fabulous throughout.  We managed to get everything sorted into bins.  Some stayed and some are going up to my classroom studio for Victoria Findlay Wolfe's Class next week.  This way other's can play!!

Here is what my sewing area now looks like...

Before it was piled high with scraps and my kitty would lay one them like a bed.  We sorted through everything and gave everything a place.  No more bed for my kitty.

And look I can see my AccuQuilt Studio Cutter AND actually use it again!!!  I am sooooo excited about that!

Believe it or not, we have more to organize and clean.  We will be doing a lot of that over the next few weeks and I am super excited.

Don't you feel FREE when you get organized?

Until Next Time...

please send her my way! I don't have scraps...(they get cut up immediately with my Go! cutter into tumblers) but have stacks and stacks of fabric that need to go into bins or better yet folded and onto shelves! Can pay with fabric and chocolate!

I have some of my scraps organized but not all - but they never get put on the cutting table unless they will be used that way the table is free to work on. The scraps go in baskets and boxes. One day i hope to finish organizing them so i can see what I have to use them

I love getting organized, I plan to do some today. I do have bins of scraps that will remain as is for now however. Enjoy!

It doesn't take long for my creative space to become a creative mess. I find it helps to have systems for my scraps, but I still have to follow them, lol.

I know so many people and myself that have purchased the Ikea table for their sewing room. I use mind as a cutting table and its soooooooo sturdy. I want to get another for "other" cutting tools.

So quickly my sewing space becomes chaos - how fabulous to tackle the task with a friend. When I'm alone and try to organize I always get distracted then discouraged.

I love getting 'organized'. I clean and it seems to stir the old creative juices.

Getting organized is like flossing your teeth - always feels so great. Good for you!

You have a sweet friend to help and I bet it was fun! My fabric room is usually organized. Sometimes I would rather do that than sew. It is so satisfying seeing a neat sewing room. Right now mine is a mess as we are moving. My new room is much smaller so a lot of fabric will need to be stored in bins. And my husband will have his large desk in there as well. Will only do one project at a time.

You have inspired me to have a friend over for lunch and to do the same. Then I can help her. It is so much better than tackling it by yourself.

Being organized is a wonderful feeling. One I must admit I experience rarely. Loved seeing your pile of scraps and the students in Victoria's class are going to love you for them.

I love a clean room and you may have inspired me to clear off my cutting table! It has scrap strips on it as well as collections of fabric that really have no place to go, need to find a place! Thanks for the idea.

Free, light and full of creative energy is how I feel after clearing out/reorganizing! Good for you to enlist a friend - such a great idea. It looks wonderful.

Yeah for you. I actually get very antsy and can't work when there is too much mess so once it gets to that point I have to organize before I can work any more.

Good for you!!! Love the before and after pictures. I can definitely relate to the before. You should invite Debbie to do a guest post on her process for organizing your sewing room. I'd love to read it as I need ALL the help I can get!!!

I just did that a couple days ago and it feels great. Good luck with the rest of the reorganizing.
