As many of you know from my FaceBook post and from many other bloggers and those on FaceBook, there is a pillowcase drive taking place for the kids at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT
These are the fabrics that I have selected for some boy and girl pillowcases. I will be making mine today and sending them off. My hopes is that they will bring some comfort to those children who have survived this horrific event.
If you would like to help out here is the information, and they are due by December 27, 2012:
Becky at Quilter's Corner would like to get 600 pillowcases by the above date, you can mail them to...
Quilters Corner
312 Danbury Rd
New Milford, CT 06776
Thank you to anyone who can help and please pass the word around.
Until Next Time...

I'm glad you posted about this yesterday. It was cathartic to me to put together two fun cases from my stash, and I really hope they can help two young ones know that humanity does exist.
Thank you for posting about this. I have 2 pillowcases ready to mail later today!
Is there a specific pattern they are using or size recommendations? Fabric suggestions or restrictions?
Jamie. The pattern I am using is on my left side bar listed under Freebie Patterns.
Mine is off in the mail today! thanks for posting this, I hadn't heard about it!
Jackie - Thank you for posting this. I sent 4 pillowcases off today. My heart is heavy with sympathy for the surviving children and the parents whose children were taken from them.
I finished four so far. However, there was a guild member that has family in Newtown, so she took them to give to a church in Monroe that is also collecting the pillowcases? Are these all going to the same place? I have seven more cut and hope to get them sewn.
Thank you Jackie for helping to spread the word. Becky www.quilterscorneronline.com if you like us on facebook you can watch our progress in collecting the pillowcases. It has been very touching.
