Variations....

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful National Quilting Day yesterday!!  I know I did, I spent the day teaching the Glacier Star Technique of the month at my CVQW Studio.

We had a great time, lots was accomplished and many laughs.  Several of the ladies brought in some goodies like green cupcakes (pistachio), blueberry cornbread, and Irish soda bread.

But what I loved the most was seeing the progress and the variations in every single quilt in the room.  Let's go on a short tour.

I have become quite smitten with this color way.  Gloria's quilt is mostly purple and green, but it is reading more black here.  This is just lovely!

Sue is doing this fabulous calm blue version, mixing in some Kaffe Fassett fabrics with batiks.

Jan's version has almost a southwestern feel.  Gorgeous colors.

Deb's is this beautiful bold purple with green and a splash of orange... LOVE!

Donna was able to get a ton accomplished today.  I am so loving her fabric choices too.  Can't wait to see it all done!

Anne's combo is bold and beautiful.  Loving the splash of orange.

Lisa's is fabulous!  Bright like I would do... she is naming this one fiesta.

Lil's color way is like none I have seen.  Soft yet bold!  Great job!

Edie's very soft version. This is also a non-batik quilt as well.

I have TONS more photos from yesterday, just click here to see them all.

I hope you all had a fantastic time celebrating National Quilting Day too!

Until Next Time...

For National Quilting Day I attended our State Guild show. Wish you had been here in time to join me because it was a really good show. Looking forward to seeing you hopefully sometime next week? How are the boys doing?

Hi ladies/friends, Hoped you had a spectacular day. I have spent the day watching videos (The Quilt Show) and doing some sewing on my the Aurifil Designers Blocks of the month as well as finishing off a round on my tatted edging on my traced linen table cloth violets. Now I'm just about to start doing some embroidery on the top now that I have chosen the violets colour. Your Quilts all look amazingly good only wished I had my fabrics so I could have joined you in spirit. Keep going, love the all the colours of the quilts too. Julie Beard.

I adore all these versions...fabulous job, ladies!! Sitting in that class would have been my dream day, but I had one almost as wonderful, as my dear hubby took me to our local quilt shop and patiently let me shuffle around on his arm (having a health hiccup at the moment, but getting better soon!)and insisted on buying me the cutest wristwatch, with a measuring tape for a band and scissors for the hands! Isn't he a sweetheart? :-)

I love seeing the variations, how different each quilt will look. Each one is just fabulous! I can't imagine how long it would take to choose all the fabrics! Maybe one day.

Wow, those are all so beautiful, every one different and stunning!

I spent far too much of the day yesterday watching past episodes of The Quilt Show (so much tempting inspiration, very dangerous to those of us with heaping WIP piles already). Today I hope to tear myself away and do some actual sewing!
