Blogger's Quilt Festival Spring 2012

Hello Everyone,

I know that my regular readers have seen this quilt probably too much, so I hope you all aren't yawning out there.  But for readers who might be new, I would like to share with you my current favorite quilt...

Island Breeze.  This is a quilt that I designed and made for Quilt Magazine.  I used all Island Batik fabrics.

I am in love with the results.  It just makes me smile, I hope it does for you too!

Close up of some of the quilting in the quarter square triangle unit.

A flower motif I did in the big blue block.

The entire quilt.  Most of you know that I am not a big blue fan, but I just love the way that these colors play together!

I had fun designing it as well as piecing and quilting this quilt.

This is the flat shot of the quilt as taken by the awesome Quilt Magazine photographers.  And the best part of this quilt is that...

It made the cover of the current (June/July 2012) issue of Quilt!!  Happy Dances!!

If you would like to make this quilt yourself, I have kits available in the shop as well as the magazine.

You can find the kits here.
You can find the magazine here.

Now hop on over to Amy's site and see all the rest of the cool quilts from the Blogger's Quilt Festival and enter your own.  I am a sponsor of the event and you could win a gift certificate from me to my shop!!

Enjoy!

Until Next Time...

it's worth the cover!! that's awesome. I just sent of a quilt to a magazine, then I started thinking about what IF it would make the cover.... but I bet you have to be a more seasoned designer to get the cover right? did you know?

Beautiful! Love the fabrics you chose. I've never seen batiks used in such a traditional style before but then I guess that's what makes it such a modern take.
