Paper Piecing Class

Hello Everyone,

On Saturday, I taught another paper piecing class.  I had a fabulous group of ladies!  They all chose a variety of fabrics for the project.  This is probably my favorite part of teaching, seeing all the wonderful choices my students make.

This class was another Judy Niemeyer pattern, A Touch of Spring.  You can find the pattern here.

Working hard cutting out the foundation pieces using the quick cutting method.

Getting down to business sewing the arcs.

Quick cutting the fabric before piecing, using the template layout sheets.

Beginning to see all different results.  A lovely combination!

Almost ready to trim.

This version is going to be enchanting.  She is using all her scraps, but I love where this is headed.

A very productive day!  Arcs and quarter circles done.  Now they have homework for next week.  Stay tuned for progression photos!

This is the pattern we are working on in class, some students are actually making it larger.  If you would like to make this quilt, you can find the pattern by clicking here in my shop.

Until Next Time...

I really enjoy seeing all the combos people choose for their quilts. Keep posting class photos. Those of us who can't be there can get lots of good ideas and inspiration!

Looks like a fun and challenging workshop. Paper piecing is one of my favorite things to do. What kind of foundation paper do you use?

After seeing the New York Beauty at the Kalona quilt show, I know I have to make one of these. Sooner rather than later. Sure wish I could take a class with you.

Hi Jackie. I've just seen your 2 Lone Star quilts on Jayne's blog, and wanted to say how fabulous they are. I specially love the one with the Flying Geese. If only I lived closer, so I could come and join your lessons on the latest pattern from Judy Niemeyer. I think it's a bit to far from the UK!
