Eight Little Green Blocks

Hello Everyone,

As I said on my last post we had our Mod Conn Quilt Guild meeting on Sunday and I showed you my block before I left. Taking my cue from my friend Victoria, we had a green block meeting.

The only instructions given were to make a 12.5 inch block out of only green fabrics. So neat to see what we all came up with too!

Here they are all lined up. Now let me introduced you to each one.

This little froggy block is from Susan. She incorporated curves and applique.

This free pieced block is from Heide. Don't you just love the little apples?

This churn dash is from Heather. We both used Kona Celery as our background.

This block was made by Susan... Mom.

This one was by her daughter, Maddie. She is a young quilter at the ripe old age of 9! Great job!

My friend Karen Griska made this one. I just love the little cabbage centered right in the middle.

I just love pinwheels and this was made by Michele.

And there is my blades of grass right in the front. Thanks to Cathy for a wonderful suggestion in an e-mail to me. All I have to say is the wheels are now turning!!

Taking another cue from Victoria, we are now going to pair these green blocks with purple/plum fabric!! Thank you Victoria for letting us borrow your brilliant idea!

What would you do with green fabric??

Until Next Time...

I don't know what I would do with green. =) But I like looking at your ideas.

I do not know off the top of my head what I would do, but I do tend to use applique a lot.
The blocks you showed are great inspiration! And the blades of grass is bloody brilliant! Love the idea!

I love green and always find ways to use it in quilts because you can always find a green to go with any color scheme!
