Hello Everyone,
The past few days have been quite hot and sunny, just like I like it to be. So I took the opportunity to photograph some of my beautiful flowers that have just begun to bloom.
Come take a peek with me...
A gorgeous peony.
Pink geranium. You will see that pink is a theme in my garden. It is definitely my favorite color, all shades!
Another pink peony.
Baptisia Australis or Blue False Indigo.
White Iris.
White Peony.
Can anyone help me with the above? It is a flowering shrub, we planted it about 12 years ago and I can't remember what it is called. Any help would be appreciated.

Jackie, I think it's a Kalmia, a mountain laurel. Beautiful pictures! You must have a gorgeous garden. Surely you don't have time to take care of it and do all your quilting, do you?
Beautiful! Peonies are so pretty but I wish they weren't so top heavy. Ours have already bloomed out. I love the little pink geranium too.
I think it is Mountain Laurel too. I have it growing wild on the edge of our woods.
Beautiful flowers, love the pink! Where is your False Indigo planted? I have not had any luck with it and want to give it another try.

Gorgeous flowers! Mountain Laurel is the state flower of Connecticut, so maybe that's why you bought it.
Your flowers are beautiful! My peonies are done already, and so are most of my iris. They seemed to come and go so quickly this year.
pretty flowers, most that you have that I have are done and gone about a month ago already! I wish my peonies would have lasted longer and would have had more of them, they didn't do well this year.

I don'tknow what it is...but it's gorgeous...send a pic to a garden center on line...all the flowers are beautiful.ours are still in bud nere....iris is about ready to open...I moved my peony earlier this year...set them back..I hope they survive..had them for a long time...hate moving things...nice pics
This is why Spring is my favorite time of year. I love to see all the flowers in bloom. Thanks for the beautiful eye candy.

Pretty sure it's mountain laurel, state flower of Pennsylvania as well as Connecticut... thus linking past and present!
Beautiful flowers!! My peonies are just about done so it's good to see some fresh ones. Perennials are wonderful. Plant and enjoy for years.

GORGEOUS !! love the pinks and whites !! my orange poppies did not do well this year ; when they started blooming it got rainy & windy for many days and they all pooped out . I don't know what your mystery bush is !
Mountain laurel...the state flower of Pennsylvania and I believe, Connecticut.
Gorgeous garden, Jackie! Your plant is a mountain laurel - I believe the pink versions are more rare than the white. We have one that bloomed profusely last year and not at all this year! I can imagine how much inspiration you must get from your lovely flowers!

Your garden is beautiful!! You have some of my favourite flowers -- the peonies being at the top of the list! It must be heavenly walking past the peony bushes and inhaling that gorgeous scent!
Yes it is a kalmia. I have a darker pink one. I love the way the buds look like they have been made with a icing forcer.

Yes I agree with the others.....mountain laurel....love the little cups in the blooms....your gardens are looking fantastic! thank goodness that heat went away so all the blooms can last longer :0)

i've kinda neglected my love of gardening for quilting and hoarding fabric. when i read your post and saw your ? on the flower, my first thought was mountain laurel. yeah!, i still remember a little of my gardening years. my gardens are also full of pinks and greens and so are my fabric bins.
I'm glad to learn the name of the mountain laurel - there is one in full bloom in front of my yoga studio (North Vancouver, BC) and I've never seen it before. Very pretty! Thanks!
