Blogger's Quilt Festival Spring 2011 Edition

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Spring Edition of my friend Amy's Blogger's Quilt Festival!! I am doubly excited about this edition for several reasons...

1. I am once again a sponsor of the event and my online shop is giving away 2 -$20 Gift Certificates on Amy's site!!
2. Because I get to share my creations with you...

I know that recently I did post about this quilt, but I have to say that I really do love this one and hope you do too.

This is my Diamonds Down Under Quilt that I designed, made, and quilted for Quilt Magazine. It is in the current issue!! You can find it in my shop with just a few more kits available. You can also read more about it here.

Here is the entire quilt. One of the reasons I designed this one with these colors is because the fabrics just spoke to me. Australian Aboriginals and Kona Cotton Solids were used. I love bright saturated color and these did the trick. I also enjoy working with different shapes such as triangles and diamonds.

This is the photo that appears in the magazine. The rumpled teen room look.

Because I really liked how the quilt turned out, I made it into an iPhone case!! Click here to make your own one of a kind case for your gadgets.

Also, I thought I would share one more quilt with you...

This is the scrappy black and white Hunter's Star quilt that I made for my daughter for Christmas. You can read more about it here and here and here.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed the show!!

Until Next Time...

Diamonds Down Under is absolutely lovely. Thanks for showing it. I like the Hunter's Star too but the black and white doesn't speak to me the same way the COLOUR does.

It is so perfect for a teenager's room with its bright colors. I love it!

Okay, it's a good thing we don't have to pick a favorite!! These are both fabulous. But I really like the Hunter's Star. Great job on both and congrats on being published :).

I love the design you have created to use with these fabrics. The quilt looks stunning. What a great idea.

Diamonds down under is such a great quilt - I love pattern, but the colors and the Aboriginal prints make it such a happy quilt. What a fabulous idea to turn a favorite quilt into a custom phone case. The Hunter's Star quilt is amazing - the contrast and scrappiness of the black and white fabrics really show off the pattern. It just wouldn't have been the same without the pop of blues and teals though :)

Jackie, the Diamonds Down Under quilt is absolutely amazing. I love the colors and the fabrics. This would look good in Kaffe Fassett fabrics too, I think.
The Hunters Star is very interesting, too. Love the blue border. It looks like a monochrome photo with a recolored area. :-)

Love the colors in the Down Under quilt - wow! I just did a diamond quilt and I'm done with diamonds for right now (it gave me fits - LOL!), but I'd like to take a crack at your pattern some day! I love the black/white and teal Hunter's Star. I fell in love with your color scheme when you showed it before and I picked up fabrics to do one just like it at the quilt show in February. Just love that pop of teal in the border!

Oh, double delight! I love both quilts equally. What a neat idea for the phone cover, you can enjoy the quilt all the time. I'm enjoying visiting the quilt festival entries, it'll take awhile to get around them all though.

Your Diamonds Down Under quilt is quite amazing. I tend to shy away from diamonds with all the bias edges. It is very beautiful!

That is beautiful. I have been looking for a zig zag type of pattern to use to make a "Grand Canyon" quilt, this may be the one. Thanks!
