Boston... Day 2... Chihuly!

Hello Everyone,

Our second day in Boston began with a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts to see the Chihuly exhibit. We arrived early but had to wait about 1 hour to actually see the exhibit. It was worth it, but we didn't get to see anything else in the museum as we had a session for a college visit.

This was one of the first things that we were treated with when entering the exhibit. Probably one of my favorites too.

This information board was something that we had to read to occupy our wait time. I found it amazing that this man only has sight in one eye. I just loved his work that I purchased this book (click here).

Now you didn't think that was all of the photos that I took, did you?? I took so many, that I made a slideshow that you can view right here. It is quick only 1 minute long. Or you can click here to go to Flickr and view.

Once we finished here, we literally grabbed a quick bite to eat and made it to our next destination with just a couple of minutes to spare!!

Our second college visit was at M.I.T (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). To sum it up, we LOVED it!! Pretty much everything about it we loved and it is a front runner in the college search.

This is one of the buildings on campus. It was designed by Frank Gehry, a prize winning architect. You can read more about the Strata Center, on the campus, and Frank Gehry by clicking here.

There won't be a post for Day 3 as I was horrible at taking photos. But we visited Boston University and then headed home. It was a dreary, overcast and cold day too!

***Today is the LAST DAY to enter the giveaway!! Just click here to do so and good luck!!***

Until Next Time...

Perhaps a new quilt based on the colors in the glass? Best of luck with the college decisions.

Very cool slideshow! We visited 3 schools this week, too. Holy Cross and Assumption in Worcester, and Providence College. Holy Cross is our favorite so far, but we have a long way to go!

I have been to one Chihuly exhibit here in the Chicago area and it is something I'll never forget. I have several of his DVDs too because his work is amazing.

I hope your decision on the college will be easy to make.

Wow, that was some slide show! I got to go in Chihuly's home in Seattle and see his swimming pool with clear glass bottom and blown glass objects underneath.
MIT looks really cool!

I LOVE seeing Chihuly work. There is a walkway in Tacoma WA and the ceiling is all his glass. It's so inspiring and incredible. Looks like you are getting to see lots of interesting things, Happy Easter.

Jackie, I've wanted to see a Dale Chihuly exhibit forever. I'm so glad to see this post because we'll be in Boston next weekend, and we're going to see the exhibit. Maybe we'll see you, too, at the 1st birthday party.

Many thanks,
Shirley
