Weathervane Quilt Finished!

Hello Everyone,

I have finally finished my big Weathervane Quilt!! The last time I posted about it, or at least the last one I could find, was here. So it has come a long way.

Not sure where this one will end up, but it is with me for now. So let's take a peek...

Beautiful colors orange, blue, green, brown, and white.

Do you see some Katy Jump Rope?

I had found this backing a while ago and thought it was just perfect. The colors and the design.

The borders are all made up of "logs". Simple and easy design.

Because of the busyness of the fabric and pattern, I quilted it with and edge to edge design using a variegated orange thread. The design that I chose was a very traditional Baptist Fan. If you click on the photo you may be able to see the quilting better.

The binding is Kona Cotton Coffee and can be found here. I had debated long and hard about what fabric I should use for the binding. And after auditioning a few, this was definitely the right choice... what do you think?

The complete quilt... TA DA!! I love it and am so glad I can cross this one off my to finish list. The pattern is from Glad Creations and is called Weathervane.

Don't forget, there are only 3 days for the special pricing on the 1930s fabrics! They are all marked down to $6.75 per yard. Just click here to take a peek.

Until Next Time...

Another gorgeous quilt! You have a nice eye for color and placement. I really love the log border on this quilt. It gives it that bit of whimsy that goes so well with the the design and fabric collection.

This is one of those timeless quilts, kind of old fashioned, yet new fabric lines. I saw that kind of sashing with 9 patch cornerstones about 30 years ago in a magazine and finally used it a couple years ago. It adds a lot to the quilt.

i like how the sashing runs into each other to create the nine patch. and how very little of the white is used but just enough to separate the blocks. very pretty. all about the fabric.

This quilt is spectacular. Some of my favorite individual patterns are ones I've bought from Glad Creations. (and I haven't made any of them yet).
I must admit I didn't recognize your quilt as one of their patterns. Your fabric selection was different from their usual dark fabrics. This is a wonderful variation, Jackie!
