Quilt Market Post #1... A Kaffe Lover's Delight

Hello Everyone,

I arrived in Houston on Thursday with my friend Pam and we have been going non-stop upon arrival!

Yesterday, was spent podcasting (new episodes with special quilty guests available soon) and going to schoolhouse and sample spree.

One of my most favorite schoolhouses was spent with Kaffe Fassett, Brandon Mably, and Liza Lucy. So rather that talk more about it, I thought I would share a ton of photos that I took...

Yellow floral quilt, seen above, just gorgeous. Wanda, this one is for you! Many of the quilts that you will see here can be found in his latest book Quilts en Provence. You can find the book here...

Lightning streak quilt was a beauty.

Right now the name of this quilt escapes me, but it was made by Liza Lucy. Just gorgeous!

Sorry this is a little out of order, but here is Kaffe in the Westminster booth working on a needlepoint. The quilt behind him is also in the book. But don't you love that rug.

New ribbons made from Kaffe and Brandon's fabric. Aren't they luscious?

Back to schoolhouse... Brandon made this cute little quilt from lots of his fabric and Kaffe's pencil fabric.

Kaffe and Brandon holding Kim Mclean's Lollipop trees.

And don't you just love these mitered stripes. They are all new colorways in his stripes. I will be ordering these first thing in the morning for the shop!

Another Brandon Mably quilt.

Liza cashing people out, but the quilts behind just sing.

Kaffe and Brandon speaking with customers.

Loving those stripes again.

Gorgeous!

Wow, look at the size of that paperweight fabric!! Oops, it is a rug, cool isn't it? I just really wanted to take this home with me.

New fabric line for Kaffe, due into my shop first thing in December.

Needlepoint that Kaffe was working on in his chair.

I hope you enjoyed some of my first day at market. Stay tuned more to come!

Until Next Time....

Oh thank you for showing Kaffe, he is coming to Australia next year and I was lucky enough to get a spot in a workshop. Even though it means a 3 hour drive and my poor husband gets left with a 3yo and a 1yo and I had to scrounge the money off him too I am so excited to be going to see him. I am loving your podcasts too, the information on the show was really interesting.

Thanks for a great post Jackie - you know Kaffe is my hero - you are soooo lucky to have even been in the same room with the "Master of Color."

Boy - would those rugs look great in my studio! Wonder where you can buy them - did he say?

If you make up a fat quarter selection of one each of the new Kaffee/Brandon fabrics - I will be your first customer!
