Mambo in Progress and Happy Easter!

I have actually made some headway on my Mambo quilt. I have cut all the fabric and have about 1/2 of the blocks complete. It is really a quick and easy quilt to make. Although, I am thinking of setting it on point and putting setting triangles in the border area. Yes, you are probably thinking that I am crazy, just make it simple. Or then again maybe that is just my voice? Either way I am still not sure what mood I will be in when I begin to lay out the blocks.

Anyway, check out my progress....I'm lovin' it!!

Another update has been made to my website, I just added 3 more customer quilts to it this morning. They are really gorgeous! Check them out here.

Have a Happy Easter everyone!!

Happy Weekend!

A Nice Surprise and More!

The weather man was calling for freezing weather later on in the day. Just a side note that the "bad weather" did not start until around 10:30. So it was definitely a good day to stay inside.

Anyway, I did work and quilted another customer's quilt today. It is beautiful. I love the colors pink and green. You can see it here on my website. I also added some other pictures of some other quilts done this week. They are also on my site.

I did receive a surprise from Paula. Here is a picture of th
e goodies that were delivered by the mail woman. Thanks Paula!! Visit her here.Later on, we made these. It was a good day to do this as it pretty much rained all day. Good day for sewing, cuddling up with a good book, and making cookies. The night ended with our new family ritual of watching Hawaii Five-O. My husband and I remember watching Hawaii Five-O, as my kids would say..."back in the day". Now we are all enjoying the series. We are now on Season 3 of the DVD sets. That is all that is out. There are 12 Seasons. We have a lot more to go!! If you remember them, they are fun to watch, again.

Have a great night!!

A Small 30's Project

I decided that I needed a small project to work on, and because I love the 30's fabrics I chose one from Darlene Zimmerman's book Fat Quarter Small Quilts. I also wanted to pull fabrics from my stash and not buy any new fabric...heavens, no new fabric!!! Well, at least not for now. It truly is a small project and will finish at about 24" X 27" so if I could not scrounge up enough fabric in my stash I was in trouble. Here is a look at the fabric that I chose.

The quilt is the cover quilt on her book it is really cute and will go well on the wall or on the dresser in our guest bedroom. This room has a cottage feel to it. I didn't get too far on it I only cut the strips and the center squares out. After all, I did teach a class today at the shop.

One last thing I want to invite you all to my new website. It was created by some very nice people and they were just fantastic. They create websites especially for quilters, check them out.

I'm sorry, I lied that wasn't the last thing...I just wanted to share this last picture with you of our cat Rolo (20 lbs). He was desperate for water and needed a sip right out of my son's glass. And no his face did not get stuck, although we thought it might.
