Karen's Quilt

Hello Everyone,

I just had to do it!! I had to showcase my friend Karen's Quilt. She did a fabulous job piecing this and selecting the fabrics. Many of the fabrics are Kaffe, but she has others in there too. She really has a great eye for color.

She asked me to custom quilt this for her as it is a gift for her daughter. She used the BOM pattern from the Quilt Show, their first one, and adapted it slightly.

It is a medallion style quilt with this gorgeous feathered star in the middle. This of course required some special quilting treatment.

Pinwheels my absolute favorite block, love them!

The entire quilt in all it's glory. Isn't it a beauty? You are never going to believe it, but she made 2 more of these!! Yes, you read that right. I am quilting those too. Those are slightly larger than this one though and are true to the original pattern.

Quiltn' in CT

Hello Everyone,

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend...for those of you in the U.S. We went to a Red Sox game and they won!! We also walked along the Freedom trail in Boston. It was fun especially when we stopped in the North End at the Italian bakery, mmmmm!

Anyway, onto quilty stuff. Going back a few months to June when I had my giveaway. If you remember, it was in celebration of my birthday. Well, my hubby and kids got me a great gift and it finally arrived. Here it is...

How cool is that? So if you are ever in CT and see this plate, it is me, say hi!!

Also, since the kids started back in school, I am now getting back into a rhythm and working on my mystery quilt. So keep your eye out for some posts on this. Lots of half square triangles!!

It's Finished!!

Here it is, I finished the Black, White, and Red Quilt!! It is bound and has a label!! I can't yet show you the label as the surprise for my friend would be given away. I am not sure if I mentioned it before, but the pattern is called Twisted Sister by Ami Simms and you can get it here.
