The Beginning of Glaciers

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was my very first "Official" class at my new studio in Winsted, CT!!  This class is the Glacier Star Technique of the Month.  I had a full house with lots of wonderful ladies participating.

As per usual, I had an opportunity to walk through the class as the ladies were sewing and take some photos of their fabrics and their progress.

Let's take a tour.

Wait a minute... Where did these come from???   Anne brought along these little pouches that she had made... how fun are these??  The best part was that she sells these!! I purchased one for a special someone.

So you never know what is going to happen in class.  It was a fun day!!

The Beginning of Glaciers

Day 1 ~ New York Beauty

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was the first day of class for the Glacier Star Technique of the Month.  This is a class that I am teaching in Vermont.  I am also teaching this in NY in 2 weeks as well as in my new studio beginning on February 2, 2013.  There are only 2 openings left in this class!!  If you are interested, just click here to register and grab all the information.

Anyway, I wanted to show you some of yesterdays happenings....

Norma had blown up the line drawing of the Glacier Star and began to color it in.  This is going to be similar to what she is actually doing.  I love the color scheme.

Norma completed one of her 8 New York Beauty blocks.  She is on her way.

We were also treated to a very scrumptious lunch!  Carolyn made a terrific turkey chili, corn muffins and chocolate cake,  and Christy created a perfectly pleasing pasta.  All of this made for a terrific addition to class.  Thank you ladies for feeding us so well!!

Now to share some of the fabric variations of the other students in class. 

Sarah's Kaffe Fassett New York Beauty Block.  This is going to be a bright and happy quilt.

Linda's green, yellow, and red combos... wait until you see the rest of her fabrics!

Jean with this lovely yellow and blue combination.

Sue was a busy bee and finished ALL 8 blocks.  Her quilt is going to be BRIGHTS.

Deb picked some gorgeous fall tones with a little shot of purple.  This was an added suggestion from her daughter and it works well.

The other Norma is doing this combination of browns and teals.  It is really a phenomenal combo.

We were then treated to a mini show and tell.  Two of the ladies had completed their 4th of July quilts from the previous class that I taught in Vermont.

Linda's gorgeous green and fall tone quilt top... I am in love!!  Great job, Linda!!

Norma's is bright and beautiful.  The bright spikes really pop on the blue background.  Now for the quilting!!
