The Effects of The BIG Blizzard

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday the BIG Blizzard, Nemo, hit here in New England.  We hunkered down all day and did not go anywhere.  I decided that hunkering down in my home studio was definitely the way to go!!  I literally sewed ALL day long and loved every single minute!!

I was able to get a TON accomplished on my Sunflower Illusions... A.K.A. my Aster quilt.  I really am loving the look of it!

I was able to complete all the KM Units.  I had 25 to make and managed to get it done.

I just kept pinning the stacks to my design wall and watched it grow.

With more each time, it was truly a good feeling to see them all up there.  At this point, I had to take a breath and went to get dinner ready.

So, the plan was after dinner to lay it out on the design wall.

That is just what I did!  Today if I am still pleased with this layout, I will begin sewing the units together and hopefully by day's end, I will have a quilt top!!

Even though I hate snowstorms... I really have loved the effect of this one!!

More snow today!

Until Next Time...

This is stunning. I love your color choices. As long as you keep power, a blizzard is not such a bad thing. Happy sewing.

It's gorgeous! I love your color choices. I have just finished (not quilted yet) my very first NYB quilt and it won't the the last. :) Stay safe in your sewing room! Here we have thunderstorms so no way I venture out. Have a wonderful weekend!

Sewing and snowing seem to go hand in hand. Thanks goodness for big stashes! Stay warm. Your aster quilt is a beauty.

well at least something good came out of a winter storm - I have a feeling a lot of quilters in New England have been getting some quilts done.

Great progress. Though I didn't get quite that much accomplished myself during the storm I was able to do a bit. Hopefully today I will finish what I started.

We've been watching the storm. My DH who is from Waterford has been glued to the tv. Hope you made it okay. I guess if you're sewing you still have power. The blocks are beautiful - love the colors.

That is the perfect way to deal with a huge snowstorm! The bonus is your quilt makes me think of warm weather!

Beautiful! I spent the day baking instead of sewing. Maybe, I'll take a bit of time this afternoon. Hopefully, the roads will be opened back up soon! Enjoy the wonderful sunshine we have today!
