Bound and Done

Hello Everyone,

I know I showed you my Summer Solstice in my blog post here, but I hadn't quite finished it... now it is done!  I have sewed the binding down, put a sleeve on it and a label and sent it off to be displayed here where I will be teaching this class.

I used the same fabric for the binding as I did the inner border.  I really like this effect!  Actually I am really smitten with this entire quilt.  Done with Kaffe Fassett fabrics and 3 batiks.

I must tell you that paper piecing is the ONLY way to go with a Lone Star, no doubt in my mind.  No worrying about bias edges and everything is extra precise.

The following photos you have already seen but felt you might want to see them again.

Close up of the quilting.

The quilting turned out just fabulous!! I love this quilt!!

If you would like to take this class from me in Massachusetts in April, just click here for the details.

Until Next Time...

Yes the DFW area would be a GREAT place to have a class! LOL And a kit with the fabrics you used would be AWESOME--right?! LOL I could never pick colors and put them together like that.

The Kaffe fabrics worked great on this one. I do the same fabric for inner border and binding a lot and I like the effect too. Great job!
