Hello Everyone,
I had promised an the second post of the 4th of July Class that I taught for yesterday, unfortunately I was soooo tired, I never got to writing the post. But have no fear, I am sharing it now!!
These ladies are making some masterpieces in some wonderful color combos.
Some of the techniques they learned in class are:
Pinless curved piecing
Organized chain piecing of your foundation pieces
Floating points
Stacking your fabrics for quick cutting through up to 24 layers
Quick cutting foundation papers
Cutting curves with a rotary cutter
The value of a glue pen
Partial seaming
and much, much more...
Unit S and A joined together.
Some vibrant color combos.
Color selection.
We also had one of the students, Norma, bring in a few of her quilts. The above is in progress. She is quilting this gorgeous Mariner's Compass.
This is Norma holding her award winning quilt. This photo absolutely does not do it justice! It is just absolutely stunning in person.
This quilt is another she has in progress. It is the BOM for The Quilt Show.... Sedona Star. Again, be still my heart... just jaw dropping beautiful!
The first four to complete some blocks!! Yay!!
Christy has two blocks complete... man does she look like she was roughed up a bit???
Linda's four blocks joined together! Love the colors!
The entire class and their blocks! They did a fabulous job and it was a joy to spend two days with these talented ladies.
They have strict instructions to e-mail me their completed 4th of July quilts. I will be sure to share them with all of you.

Wow, I love your photos Jackie! Norma's quilts look absolutely brilliant! I love her fabrics on the mariner's compass quilt, I'm wondering what kind are they. Her award winning quilt is stunning! You had some talented students in your class! Unfortunately I will not be there tomorrow :((( I was really sad about it and hoping you'll teach again in the area in the near future when I'll be able to make it.
