I'm In a Bind and Could Use Your Help

Hello Everyone,

Yes, these are actual binding for quilts that I have already bound. They are leftover. I keep them because you never know when you could use those pre-cut strips. But anyway, onto why I am in a bind....

My dilemma is that I just posted my 12th Podcast!! I can't believe it has been a whole year since I began Podcasting. This is a wonderful episode too. It is the sequel to Karen Griska's first interview in Episode 11. She also has a surprise on the podcast too. You can listen to it here or grab it from iTunes!

But any who... onto why I need your help...

I am celebrating my 12th podcast and would like to share my good fortune with all my listeners of my Podcast and readers of my blog. You ask how???

Well I am going to do a giveaway!! Two lucky winners will win 12 fat quarters of their choice from the fabric that is in my shop!! How cool is that??

So all you have to do is leave a comment on this post, give me any suggestions that you might have for future podcasts and also future blog posts, if you like. Also, if you are already a listener or reader, tell me what you like best about my podcasts or blog.

There must be a way for me to get in touch with you! Please leave an e-mail if you don't have a blog or other way to be contacted. It is open to everyone! I will leave this contest open until the end of April. I know that is a long time, but I would love for all of you to have the opportunity to listen to an episode or 2.

So on May 1 me and Mr. Random Number generator will draw 2 winners.

Please feel free to blog about this giveaway too! The more the merrier! Most of all thank you to all who listen to me and read my blog regularly! I truly appreciate you and the inspiration that you give!

Don't forget today is the last day of the 20% off sale in my shop! Use the code more20 at checkout!

*** The giveaway is now closed, thank you all for entering! Check back on Monday for the winners ***

Until Next Time...

Congratulations on all you have contributed to the world of quilting, and all your delightful podcasts. How about a podcast about technology that applies to quilters (e.g. how does one create a podcast, software tools that are available to quilters, you-tube videos for quilters, how blogs can inspire, etc.).

Very generous giveaway to your blog readers!
I love your photos and the detail you give about projects. I would like to know how you do all those intricate quilting designs...it seems like so many stops and starts, but I don't see any evidence of the stops/starts! I can't figure out how you do that!

Jayne Honnold said...

I would love to win fat quarters! A quilter always needs more, right?

My suggestion for a podcast would be dealing with issues related to pressing. Are you pressing seams open more often now? I seem to be. There are times when open seams make matching points and corners more accurate. Long arm quilters prefer open seams (so I'm told) as opposed to big bumps where seams pressed to one side come together.

So that is my podcast suggestion.

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

I love the quilt you made for your dad Jackie, the quilting is wonderful - and if Mr RNG picks me, I think I'll be asking for some fat quarters of that Essex linen that Mrs Schmenkman is always on about, we can't get it here... :)

What I like about your podcast is that it is to the point, not filled with lots of babble. For future podcasts, maybe some interviews. Thanks so much for doing the podcasts and congratulations on your anniversary!

Jackie, you have too many comments for me to read, which is wonderful, so if this has been said, I am sorry for the repeat. First, I love your pod casts, they are wonderful and so informative!
I did think of an idea, as you were talking about batting, there is one I use sometimes, it is a fusible batting. You iron it and the 3 layers stay together, well for me no they do not, but I do find if I use it I do not have any bubbles on the back. I still have to pin baste my quilts, but I find it helps. So how about something on basting, pins, thread, sprays, batting? Just a thought!
Or how do you know how much fabric to buy, you go into a store and like a fabric; I never know what a “good” amount might be!! Thanks and I look forward to more!

Your blog is very interesting. I love your quilts!!! Showing us photos of your quilts along with explaining your design process would be very interesting. I would love to be entered in the giveaway. Also, for someone who mentioned ideas for using one's stash, being thrifty, etc., I can highly recommend Maria Peagler's eBook titled: "The Frugal Fabriholic - Your 12 Step Plan for Saving More Cash for Your Quilting Stash". It is available through www.smashwords.com. (Maria is a color theorist also and has another book in paperback form "Color Mastery" available through any bookseller. It is excellent.) I will visit your store after I post this! Thanks! maeve315@msn.com

I just heard your podcast today for the first time and i love them... I only listened to 10 and 11 and am downloading 12 as we speak. (sorta speaking, aren't we.) I have a blog on my 30 favorite tools which I am writing over 30 days. So far it has been fun. I live in Canada and just got my IPOD 1 week ago and I am really enjoying listening to all the podcasts I can get my hands on, but yours I have really enjoyed... going to listen to the first 9 over the next few days. I also have a gammill which I don't use so much these days as I have an imbalance problem and can't stand for long periods of time... anyway... my blog is www.subbyoma.blogspot.com and I am going to follow yours starting today!!

I have not listened to the podcasts- I will have see if I can figure it out- I am sure that they are wonderful if it is anything like your blog!
Blog topics come from one's experiences- Keep sharing your thoughts and ideas about quilting and you won't go wrong.
I especially enjoyed your piece about batiks as I love batiks. Your wonky stars focal fabric is fabulous- I can see why you love it.
Someone is going to be thrilled when they get to choose 12 fat quarters- I know what I would choose- some of the beautiful Kaffe Fassett fabrics from your store. I have just begun collecting his fabrics.
Regards,
Anna

Hola, Jackie!!!
