New African Stash

Hello Everyone,

As promised, I have some more African stash. But this is brandie new to me courtesy of Evelyn. Evelyn saw my post about the African fabric that I picked up in Lancaster and she sent me an e-mail asking if I would like this wonderful little bundle of African Fabric goodness.

Of course, I said yes!! She was really speedy too. I received it just 2 days later. Thank you, Evelyn!!

Aren't they gorgeous? All different prints, different sizes, and wonderful color!

They will be put to good use in the project that I am planning for my husband. You can see that in this post. Even though these are new additions to the African fabric stash, I have many more that I am planning to show you over the next few weeks.

Speaking of stash, I need to move out some of my inventory stash in my shop to make room for the bolts and bolts of NEW fabric that is arriving!! You can help by taking 20% off your entire order, but only for 3 days from today through April 13th! It includes all the recent NEW arrivals too. The only thing not included are books and the Kona Color card.

Use the code more20 at checkout. Hope you have tons of fun adding to your stash, just click here!

Until Next Time...

Wow, that's quite a good lot to add to the stash. How on earth are you going to bear cutting into them?

have you decided what pattern you are using for this African quilt? I envy your hubby his trip to Africa and the hike up the mountain - I bet it was spectacular.

Oh wow, Jackie, what a find! (I especially like the elephant) How lucky are you that Evelyn was willing to part with these treasures. I know the quilt for your husband is going to be amazing!

Oh, they are beautiful! I love the boldness and the stories that African fabrics tell. I think I'm going to start a table runner or mini quilt with some of mine. I may also use some in the Project Pillow Swap that I am hosting. Hopefully the recipient will like them as much as I do! I love the elephant print that you received!

Pretty pictures, Jackie! The story behind these fabrics: a quilter in my area was giving up her hobby (so sad, I know!), and I bought her stash. This was one of her UFOs, and the fabrics were all cut, but there was no clue about what design she had intended to use. I wouldn't even know where to begin! I was *ecstatic* to find a good home for them, and I think Jackie's plan for a coin design will be absolutely perfect for them. I think it was meant to be. ;-)

Love those fabrics. My friend brought me a bag of fabrics from Ethiopia the last time she went home to visit. Now I'm trying to decide what to do with them. Anxious to see your project. Maybe I'll get an idea.

Catching up here with you. I think the african fabric is all really interesting. I think it might be a trend at some point. Things seem to go around and bolder colors are in vogue. I love the beaded curtain pattern. It really is spectacular. You've got a lot going on. Great!

I love reading your blog and finding out about new things and materials. I think it would be fun to hear about vintage feed sacks. I love some of the reproductions that are out now although I am a big fan of Moda.
