Rock, Paper, Scissors.....

Hello Everyone,

My choice is paper, paper piecing that is!! As I promised, some more Judy Niemeyer inspiration from the class I took at Quilting by the Yard. Although there are only several pictures of my project from her class on this post, make sure at the end of this post you click on the link for a great slideshow for tons of inspiration direct from her class.

Since the class, I have been busy piecing my project. I chose to do her pattern "A Touch of Spring". Here are some of my arcs in progress.

Some completed arcs. Perfect spikes, that is what I like about paper piecing.

A completed block, I just love it!!

A completed border section. It is going to be wavy all around the quilt!!

My friends and I with Judy. From left to right: Caroline, Judy, Me, Deb, and Pam. We all had a great two days and learned tons.

So now if you would like to see more wonderful pictures go here for the musical slideshow (turn your volume on). If you are unable to view this one, I have an alternate slideshow (no music, just pictures) so go here to see that one. I hope you enjoy!

Also, I just uploaded more customer photos to my gallery. The most recent uploads on in the sidebar entitled Recent Additions. Check them out here. My April newsletter is also online now here. Now I must get back to my paper piecing, my hexies, my Spring to Finish project.... ooooo so many projects, so little time.

Until Next Time....

Love the wavy edge. I found working with batiks and hand dyes "ungiving" when doing curved piecing. I did an entire NY Beauty in batiks/hand dyes. How is it working for you?

I have dabbled in paper piecing and found it quite frustrating; guess I need more practice. Your project is absolutely wonderful!

Thanks for the slide show and links. I like the colors you are working with. Batiks are the best on paper pieceing because they press so easily.

Loved watching the class with Judy. You are so lucky! Wonderful quilts and the machine quilting looks terrific (would love to learn that). I don't always like machine quilting but this really looks fantastic (is this your work?). Would love to be able to take her class (but it is a little far away (lol)). Thanks for sharing. Liked Jack Johnson in the background :) Good choice.

I LOVE what you've done so far. It's going to be a stunning quilt when it's finished. I wish I didn't have so many other things to finish first and I would be working on a JN pattern!! THANKS too for sharing all those great photos. I just LOVE Judy's quilts and to see them in person is spectacular, isn't it?

Skills Jackie. You've got em. I can "do" piecing like this but mine doesn't look like yours.

I love your paper-piecing. I know for me, it is the only way that I can even begin to get a super pointy-point.

Yours are so beyond perfect!
