Blogger Quilt Festival 2009

Hello Everyone,

Amy is hosting an online Quilt Festival and I am entering the following quilt.

I realize that most of you have seen this one very recently, but it is truly one of my favorites for many reasons. Some of the reasons include that it is bright and cheerful, made from scraps, and it is paper pieced.

I also really liked doing the quilting on this one. The teapot quilting and the steam quilting, just finished it off nicely.

I was able to use some really cool, bright buttons for embellishment. Gotta have some embellishment!!

But most importantly, it was made for Melanie my Time for Tea Swap partner. She has given it a wonderful new home and is enjoying it. That makes me very happy.

So you see why I love it and it is my entry. I hope you all enjoy it too for some of the same reasons and possibly some others too!

Until next time.....

The teapots are so cute. My daughter's fiance loves to have a full teapot nearby, maybe he needs a quilt.

It must be fun to enter a quilt that you like so much! Is there a post somewhere about the winding ways quilt that is your profile picture? I love this quilt and it is on my to do list, just wondering if you have any advice on the curved seams. I saw the notches you made on the drunkard's path and thought that might help.

I'm slowly working my way through the quilt festival still. Jackie I have spent too much time this morn looking at your lovely blogs! Thank you for the "visit" into your creative vision and the inspiration. You say the teapot is paper piecing. Can you give a reference to where I could learn about that? I have made grandma's flower hexagon's via paper piecing, but my mind isn't seeing how the teapot's work. I want to mark you blog and come back again and again. best wishes!
