Modern Basics Blog Tour and Giveaway!!

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Modern Basics Blog Tour!! If you have never been to my blog before, welcome and feel free to explore.

I am very happy to be part of Amy's Modern Basics Blog Tour. First I want to tell you a very short story. A long while ago... (not so sure of the time frame), I began to read a blog called Park City Girl. I really loved reading this blog and continue to do so, but now it is called Amy's Creative Side. So I have known Amy, virtually, for quite some time.

She is talented, creative, kind, a very busy mom, and just a plain nice person. I am looking forward to meeting her at Quilt Market this spring for the first time in person!! So when she said I could be part of her blog tour, I said YES!!! I couldn't wait to see her new book....

And it was totally worth the wait!! Not only does it have a beautiful cover, but it is beautiful inside as well.

Amy, also made this beautiful little badge that you can snag too, if you would like to promote her book.

Anyway, I would like to take you on a tour of some of my favorite projects in her book. The first one is...

Graduation! When I first saw this, Kaffe Fassett florals popped into my head. Although, Kona Cotton solids were a close second. How beautiful is this quilt? But wouldn't you love to see Kaffe Fassett florals in the colored rectangles? I would and that is what I will be doing. Possibly using solids in the sashing and borders.

This one, Basic Puzzle, I just love in the solids!! But what about a monochromatic scheme of purple, or pink with a little shot of green? How yummy would that be?

Basic Postage I just love! It is classic and just reminds me of a summer day. Especially the fabrics that she used. To see more photos or to purchase a copy now, just click here.

Amy thought of everything. The instructions are clear and concise. The patterns are appealing to all levels of quilters. But this book is just perfect for someone who is beginning as well.

You know that you have a chance to win a copy of this book by visiting everyone on the tour and leaving a comment at each stop!! Yes, that is right! So make sure that you leave a comment on this post and I will leave the drawing open until Midnight March 6 and announce my winner after that.

Once you are done leaving a comment here, be sure to visit the other blogs for additional chances to win. Here is the list:

I hope that you have fun visiting all of these wonderful blogs!! I am sure that you will as well as enjoying Amy's Modern Basics book!

Oh, while you are here, if you would like to sign up for my newsletter to my online fabric shop, I would be delighted. This will keep you informed about ALL things new in my shop as wells as when we are have special discounts and sales.

Love the colour in the postage stamp quilt. Such a great book. I love the fact that I am not the only person in the comments with a new sewing machine and a desire to learn. Can't wait to share my love with my daughter (she is 6mnths so mabey a little early yet). Good to know the stitching goes on.
