Hello Everyone,
If you have been wondering why I have been kind of unavailable the past few days, well it is because I had to get out of snowy New England and visit my parents in Arizona! So glad I am here, there is NO snow and lots of pure unadulterated sunshine. Happiness does exist!!
Since I knew I was coming to the glorious southwest and I also knew that Nedra of (Cactus Needle fame) sometimes frequents the Phoenix metro area... I sent her an e-mail to see if she would be in the area.
I couldn't believe it when she e-mailed me and said she was going to stay an extra day to see little old me. I was tickled and so thrilled!
So after several years of reading each other's blogs and e-mailing, we finally met for lunch. Fantastic is all I can say!! Lunch was too short for my liking, we could have talked forever.
Nedra is talented, sweet, and fabulous person. I am so glad that I have finally met her in person. We are looking forward to meeting up at Quilt Market in Salt Lake City too!! You are a peach, Nedra!!
Also, while here...
on the first day we visited a little ranch at Saguaro Lake and I took these interesting photos. The above is a dead Saguaro cactus that had been under Saguaro lake for hundreds of years. When the lake had been damned, the cactus was unearthed. They built this room around it... pretty neat!
Then there was this wonderful four sided fireplace in the middle of this room. I thought it was just wonderful.
I had to take a photo of this chair for my friend, Justine. She loves cows. This is a great cow chair.
This is the dam that is holding back Saguaro Lake. We call this the dam picture... haha! The next day, my son convinced me to go horseback riding here. So make sure you come back tomorrow for photos of me on a horse!!
Until Next Time...

Wonderful that you could escape the snow for a while and are getting a chance to visit with your parents!
I'm channeling the warmth of the AZ sun to thaw my frozen feet. How fun to visit with a blog friend.

Looks like you had a wonderful visit in the warm weather! I wish you brought some of it back for us.
It was so fun to be able to meet YOU, too! And I'm glad to know the rest of your vacation has been warm and that you've been doing some interesting things. I need to get a "to-do" list from you of sites you recommend seeing in the Phoenix area.

Whoa - that saguaro cactus was really interesting! Thanks for sharing.
How fun to meet Nedra and to see such interesting sights! I'd love to have been a bug on the wall soaking up the interestingness of you two Kaffe-afficianodos!
Really like that 4-sided fireplace! And the chair...need to do something fun like that in my house!
Sounds like a lovely and well deserved trip! That warm Arizona sun must have felt blissful!
Lucky you to escape the cold! Makes me yearn for sunny climes too!
Hope the time you have left there is wonderful.
Great pictures...nice to catch up with friends & see interesting places.
Enjoy that sunshine - could do a trade here, I'd love to have some of that snow you were escaping. Guess I'll just go with our aircon though, probably more convenient. That cactus is amazing.
How wonderful to escape to the warmth -- and made even better by a bloggy meeting. Looks like you're having a great time!
Love that you and Nedra got to meet! I love NEdra too. I can't wait to see you both in May!!
You know, I'm not surprised one bit that Nedra stayed an extra day to get to meet you--that's just how nice she is! Gracious and hospitable are two words I'd use to describe her...along with intelligent and creative! So fun to hear that you got to meet!
Welcome home, Jackie... DH said I absolutely CANNOT have that cow chair in my living room... Boo hoo
Looks like you had a great time. We saved some yucky weather for you though. Call me if you need me....
