Hello Everyone,
As many of you know, much of the U.S. has been hit hard this year with wicked snow storms. Our little corner of the states, has been no exception. We have had record snowfall this year and boy could I use a little dose of spring!
Here is what I see out of my studio window.
Yes, BIG, really BIG icicles all over our house. In fact, all over everyone's houses. We keep knocking them off, but they reform. We also awoke one morning to a leaky roof.
Here is a little dose of how big the snow piles are. This is how we have to shovel now... high! There is no where to put it anymore.
This is the entry to our mudroom area. We no longer shovel to the front door. As you can see way too much snow and it is heavy.
***Tomorrow is the last day for the Westminster Fabric sale! Only $7.15 per yard. Just click here to get started.

I really would love a bit of your snow, ice and cold. I could easily send you some sunshine and humidity your way! Just let me know ;). Dress warm and take care when you go outside! Vreni x
Oh I wish I could have a little of your weather and I send you a little warms of mine.
cheers
Christine
Amazing icicles but so destructive. You would think Mother Nature could spread it around instead of dumping so heavily in certain places. Be safe and stay warm.
Jackie-- I just finished a post all about the snow and icicles at our house, and then viewed your post!! Great minds think alike?? (or is it just that if you live in this region you can't possibly escape marveling at-- and perhaps cursing-- the record-breaking snowfall and the steady flow of storm after storm!) Your photos are great-- much better quality than mine. This has been quite the winter!! But certainly a very pretty one.
Hope you are warm and cozy and having lots of quilting time-
Elisa
Great snow and ice photos. I think this is the most snow on the ground at one time that I've ever seen. The sun is rising and the light is pink. Wow, I should wake up early more often. :)
Brrr! I would say I enjoy the pictures, but I know how many problems this much snow makes! Take care and keep on sewing:)
What pictures! This is the perfect time of year to head our way. (shhh...I must whisper that it will be 60 degrees and sunshine here on Saturday)
You can neener neener me this summer when we're sweltering under the heat.
Looking at your pictures made me cold! I'm hear in sunny California with lows in the 30's but highs in the mid to upper 50's. Wish I could send some of the warmth your way.
looks like you have more than your fair share of snow! I'm so glad I don't live in the north anymore - the cold weather we are getting here is all I want to handle.

Hopefully the ground hog was right and we'll have an early spring...we have had a lot of snow and cold this winter too.
Stay warm!
The ground hog says it's coming -- hang in there! Your photos are beautiful -- you have WAY more snow than we have. Send more back our way LOL!
Pheeew.. it looks like it could be my backyard... :o))
And no sign of SPRING for at least two monts...
Hang in there.. :o)
Funny, I had a whole family of robins in my backyard earlier this week, too! I thought the same thing - they're spring/summer birds! Ha! And thanks for sending me my new -- oh, brother, I can't think of the name of it and I'm at work and can't go check -- the new cutting thingy. Thanks anyway, Jackie!
you definitely have more snow than we do. That looks like our winter of '78-'79 here. I've never seen such long icicles, and they are heavy too.
YIKES!!!!!
It can only get better. Right?
Take care,
Carolyn
I wish we had some of that snow. All we have is several inches of ice here and it's a mess!
We got mostly sleet, so now the snow we had, is all frozen solid, rather have soft snow, I can walk in. I also heard birds singing yesterday, was funny since it was sleeting, but they must have been happy about something;)

I'm not looking forward to returning to all this next week!!! The hubs keeps sending pics of the horror around our house... our driveway's got a sheet of ice on it. Ick!
Totally feeling your pain over here in New Haven County, Jackie! Having heard that one of our school's gym roof collapsed under the weight of all the snow and ice we've had, I can honestly say that while I'm looking forward to spring, the thought of a big thaw terrifies me--we'll all be underwater!!
Your window picture is amazing!! Love it! I am so sorry that you are having to go through all this bad weather, this, too, shall pass! Please do not send any of that toward Tennessee-we just don't want it! You have my permission to send it to Alaska, though!
Tell me about it! I am freezing over here and it has to be the day when I need to go grocery shop too! What can I can? At least I can stay home all day after that though.
Looks almost exactly like what we have in NH. It has been a wicked year for icicles up here too!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you sighting those robins and the predictions of the groundhogs yesterday mean an early spring!!
Robins??? Wow. They are LOST! I don't know if spotting them was a good thing or a bad thing....
I heard about it on the news. It's amazing how many states are involved.

Brr... it reminds me of when I lived in upstate NY. I love snow (and snowblowers! :D) It's a huge shame your roof had to leak and spoil the peace! (Good luck with that!)
I posted today about it too. It's my first New England winter. I'm trying to stay positive but it is tough!
I feel your pain Jackie, we are in the same boat, or should I say sled? We have leaks too. Its been a long time since we've experienced a winter like this!
Wow...so sorry for all of you dealing with this weather! I thought it was bad that we woke up to temps of 26 the other morning...but no snow here!
That's just way too much snow! The one thing I have always loved about winter is the icicles. I love the way the grow so quickly and sparkle in the sun. They are very dangerous though so must be knocked down. Then more can grow.
HURRY UP SPRING!!!
Yikes! And I thought we had it bad! We got another 3.5" yesterday and more chances in the next few. All kinds of records being broken. And the weekend before this started it was 76!!
Oh - those photos are amazing. THe weather has gone mad hasnt it.
Just amazing the amount of snow..sending warm thoughts.
Your pictures are amazing, and that is just too much for me! Hope you're staying warm, and safe..lots of quilting.
Wow ,!! that is some snow and icicles .Beautiful but11 --cottonreel
Wow, as others have said - hope you stay warm and snug with all that around you. I can't even begin to imagine living with all that white stuff, I just have to cope with trying to keep cool through our summer.
Warm blessings to you
