Kitty Update

Hello Everyone,

First, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers for our Rolo. Not only has this been difficult for us, but our boy is not feeling well at all.

So the update...

After taking him to the vet on Monday, he had a set of x-rays which confirmed that he has an enlarged heart with fluid surrounding it and some fluid entering his lungs. Basically we caught him in the very early stages of Congestive Heart Failure. But with the medicines the vet gave us, we are hopeful that the fluids will drain and he will begin to perk up again.

The vet was pleased that we caught it when we did. Rolo still has his appetite, which is a good thing. However, he has been not moving around too much. Rolo has been hiding out in the basement and his brother Pavi spent the day down there with him. I think he knows that Rolo isn't feeling well. Rolo is only making the trip up the stairs about twice per day as his legs are quite swollen.

Thank you again for all your kind words. Please keep those good thoughts and prayers coming.

Tomorrow, I will definitely have a quilt related post!!

Until Next Time...

If only they could talk! We certainly know when our critters aren't feeling well. Good thing Pavi is there to keep him company.

Good you took him to your vet early. Some wait too long and then it's too late. You are a good kitty momma.

Poor baby!

I am so glad you caught this in time. I had this happen to one of my dogs many years ago. It was also caught on time and once she was put on medication she perked up and lived many more years.

Bless his sweet little heart! It's so great that you caught it early. He should be better soon with the meds from the Vet. I'm keeping him in my prayers, and my kitties send him a big bear hug!

XOXO,

Oh my gosh. I didn't know a cat could have congestive heart failure. We have two cats. One is a Maine Coon, 16 years old with a heart murmur, but so far it hasn't caused any problems. Our other cat is a very healthy 3-year-old pixiebob. Hopefully Rolo's medication will help. At least he is eating and I think that is a good sign. I will keep him in my prayers and please keep updating us on how he is doing.
