Hello Everyone,
This past weekend I was invited to a wonderful quilting retreat in Rhode Island. My friend Tina of Seaside Stitches invited me and I was just so excited!! I was able to meet her for the first time. She is such a wonderful friendly, and talented lady who has the most charming family!
I also met a ton of new and terrific talented quilting ladies. They were all so much fun and very welcoming. Thank you all for having me at your retreat! Too much fun!
Here we are together, Tina on the left, me on the right! You can see that we worked on our Star Crazy BOM.
Here you can see my 30s and Kaffe blocks. Behind them you can see Tina's beautiful batik blocks.
Tina is all caught up through March. I am totally caught up through February. But remember I am doing 2 versions simultaneously. I hope to have the March blocks done before the end of March. Cross your fingers!!
Here is another shot of my blocks! The only two blocks that are missing from the photos are the Irish Chain block in the Kaffe and Kona Charcoal. But rest assured, I did complete them. I just forgot to take a photo.
Please go visit Tina's blog, I know you will love it. She is a very creative soul and a great teacher too. She taught us at the retreat!! The next post will show you the quilt that she taught.
Also of note, please go to see Victoria at Bumble Beans. She is requesting house blocks be made for charity quilts and she needs your help. To join in just click here.
Once you are done at Victoria's, go here to get your Kona Color Card. They are going fast!
Until Next Time...

Hi Jackie,
I am so mad I couldn't join the both of you this time. My daughter did well at the dance competition, but it ran very late Saturday night so I could even pop in to see your show and tell. Looks like you had a wonderful time and the blocks are beautiful. Maybe we can get together another time.
Take care,
Karen
so fun to meet other quilters or just sew with friends! you are lucky. Love how your blocks are coming together.
What fun!
Retreats are so much fun!! Love all of the blocks! Glad you had a chance for some "you" time!
Looks like it was a very happy time!
Oh, sounds like FUN! I've never been on a retreat. Well, I worked at a retreat but it's not quite the same, I don't imagine. :-) Yep, and I just ordered my Kona color card. Been needing the update for a while now. Thanks, Jackie!
quilting retreats are such fun...and when we can meet new friends they are even better
BTW, the Kona charcoal is incredible in person!
What a fun retreat! It's always such great fun to sew with other quilters. The Star Crazy BOM blocks are wonderful!

sounds like you had fun and got some work done. Nice to have met Tina I bet - and it looks like maybe you had cold weather with both of you wearing sweaters! I need to get my March blocks done and need to get motivated I guess.

It's always fun to see the same quilt done in different types of fabrics and in different colors. I love quilting with friends too!
I'm so glad you had a good time. Did Tina have any of her quilt block pins with her? I love her products.
Good for you too! A mini retreat, and I officially love both versions of the starry quilt.

How fun to see three different versions of this quilt! And they're all so pretty. Lucky you to go to the retreat -- nothing better than sewing with friends!
It looks like it was a lot of fun!
Both versions of your quilt are beautiful. So fun to see the different ways a quilt can be done.
Your post has made me even more excited than I already was. I'm going on my first quilt retreat tomorrow. YEAH!
