Call Me Crazy

Hello Everyone,

Just call me crazy, Star Crazy that is... This is the newest BOM from The Quilt Show. I have been waiting since October for the first month of instructions to come out. Well they are here, and I just have to make this. Isn't it a beauty?

It isn't even 3 days into the new year and I already have another project in the works. Nedra from Cactus Needle Quilts is also doing this and asked if people wanted to join her in this journey. Of course, I hopped right on the bandwagon. Why not? I was planning on it anyway, right?

But the worst part is, I think I am going to make two of them simultaneously. So do you think I can do it or am I just crazy? If you all would like to join in, just head over to see Nedra and let her know. Then go download the instructions from The Quilt Show.

In other notes,
  • Don't forget to go to my online store for the 20% off sale, it ends 1/7/10.
  • Use the code new2010 at checkout to get your discount and be entered in the drawing for the Kona Fat Quarters and Charm Pack.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and stay warm! We are having unbelievable winds and the temperature has dropped dramatically. Brrrrr.....

Until Next Time...

If you are crazy, then so am I because I'm doing the applique BOM "Hugs and Kisses". I even purchased the kit. Remember my last post with the 5 applique UFOs? I just added a sixth. Now I really need to get hopping, huh?

that is a very wonderful looking quilt. I went to Nedra's site to see the link you posted and saw the close up of the quilting too - it looked great.
What is the membership for the quilt show and what do you get with it? I have not actually looked at that site.

What a knockout! You are not crazy to make two simultaneously! I think if you are gonna make two, that's the only way to go! Good luck!

Jackie,
Thank you so much for blogging about this and getting others to join us! I know we are going to have a lot of fun. And you are doing TWO?? I remember you asked me to keep a fire under you; now it may need to be a BLAZE!

You're not crazy- you're a quilter! I've been trying to find the right design for our anniversary quilt. Bill likes stars, so I was thinking about Judy Neimeyer's wedding ring star. But I like the idea of doing a block of the month to stay on track.

go for it! I think if you are going to make two, then doing them both together is the best way to go.

The word I would use is "ambitious" -- and I know how it is when you fall in love with something. You feel you need to make it right away -- and why not make two together?!

thanks for the info Jackie - I will join the quilt show tomorrow and get the instructions printed out - I read over the site and it looks really interesting and you are right the pattern alone is worth the fee.

What a gorgeous quilt. It's worth making two, and it looks like fun. Will the fabric recipes be the same or different?

It was 16 when I drove to work this morning. I know it is worse back there though. I love this quilt. I was just admiring it over at Nedra's.

You are NOT crazy! I have done it twice before with great results! When I finish a quilt, I find that I am always in a hurry to rush off to the next new project and don't want to re-do something I've just done. Making two at once solves that problem. Each step of the process takes a little longer, but in the end you have two quilts! Go for it!

You're not crazy. I want one too and might just make one for myself, it's beautiful. Enjoy reading your blog. Wish you were going to Paducah too!
