Rhythm

Hello Everyone,

Yes, I am having a difficult time finding a good rhythm to my summer sewing and blogging. One thing that troubles me is that I love to answer all the comments that I get. But when I had my giveaway and then the drawing, I just couldn't keep up. Partly because we went away immediately after each posting.

So, I have decided, like many other bloggers in the same situation, to wipe the slate clean and pick up from here. My apologies to all my wonderful readers. I will be answering from here on in, thanks for your understanding.

Now some very COOL news. I am now searchable on iTunes!! Yes, my podcasts are now officially in iTunes!!! I am among the likes of Alex Anderson and Annie Smith. I am just tickled pink. My newest podcast is out and you can click on my sidebar to get it or go to iTunes and and do a search for it. Lots of good info on this Podcast, so definitely subscribe. Note if you are a previous subscriber you will need to re-subscribe as the URL has changed.

Also of special note you can get my July, 2009 Newsletter online now. Just click here.

Enough of the boring stuff, bring on the fabric and patterns.

I some projects/finds/patterns/thanks to acknowledge, so here goes....

I recently purchased these lovely Kaffe Fassett fabrics from Terri at Quilternity. She has a wonderful selection and great prices. She is also quick as a bunny! I bought them for a special project, of which I cannot mention, because a certain someone may be reading.

Aren't they gorgeous?

Then on our little trip to my Mother-in-law's home in Kutztown, PA. We went to the Folk Festival. Of course, I went to the quilt barn, but look what I picked up at an antique vendor, some gorgeous feedsacks. I thought of you Nanette and Glenna!

I also recently purchased this wonderfully written and produced pattern from Stephanie at Loft Creations. It is her first published pattern and it is a real gem. If you haven't gotten it yet, it is a must.

I was also lucky enough to win a giveaway from Julie at JayBird Quilts. She sent me this wonderful template set and some charm squares that are just perfect. Thank you Julie!!

So here is to hoping I soon get some rhythm. I really need to because I am also way behind on putting customer quilts on my website gallery. Next post you will see some progress on projects! So wish me luck and .....

Until Next Time.....

congrats on your itunes podcast. Hope I got the terminology right. I'm not very technical. So are you signing autographs now? :o)

Looks like you have lots of goodies to help get you back in rhythm. I think we all need a break. It helps get those creative juices flowing again.

Thanks for the link and free advertisement. I give my daughter all the kudos for the professional look of the pattern.

Ooh! You're famous! Congratulations!

I am drooling over that red with white polka-dots in there.

I don't think anyone expects you to respond to all those people that signed up for your giveaway. Wow, that would take a looooooong time. That is one of the things I like about your blog, though- if I leave a comment, I always get a not back. :0)

Congratulations on the podcast! Sounds interesting. And I know what you mean about rhythm (that's so much nicer than routine). You have some wonderful fabrics! Will be good to see what you do with them (eventually).

Jackie - thanks for the Hunky Trick or Treaters fabric!! They'll be a big hit this Halloween. And a special thank-you for the terrific quilting you did on my scrappy batik striped quilt. Now, if I could just find the time to bind it!!

Thanks for sharing all the loveliness.
Good luck on getting the rhythm back. I know how it feels.

By all means, wipe the slate clean. We can't answer them all (or go crazy trying). The whole point is to get some quilting done, isn't it? We just love seeing what you are doing.

The Kaffe Fassett prints are glorious as is that bag pattern!
I don't think anyone can manage to answer all the comments they get on a giveaway post!

Jackie, congratulations on your podcasts being available via itunes! That's really terrific. I agree with you about finding a rhythm...it's difficult sometimes and especially so during the summer when there are so many activities to consider. Good luck with that! Can't wait to see what you make with the "Kaffes."

Congrats on being famous and I totally understand the not being able to answer all comments. We can only do what we can.

Yes it is always harder to find a balance in summer.. I definitely know that! Love all the wonderful fabrics :o)

You've got to make time for other things. I think it's a good idea not to respond for a giveaway and say so first. Nobody expects you to be at the computer all day.
I love all the fabrics you have there and congrats on the podcasts!

Wow, so much happening for you even if you can't quite find your summer rhythm! Congrats on the itunes. I love those Kaffe fabrics together, yumm. Isn't Stephanies new bag pattern gorgeous?

Hia Jackie, I for one don't expect people to email me after I've left a comment. If they pop by my blog and say hi it's great enough for me. I think there are some people out there who are very conscientious, but I honestly don't think I would have that amount of time. ...If I did I think I would be in the sewing room. I am determined that blogging shouldn't become a chore. LOL

How wonderful. I will snatch the next episode when I update my ipod. Fabulous! Good for you Jackie. I think you're really on to something.

Oh the Folk Festival!! How I love it there. That fabric is super amazing wonderful. Good for you. I hope you had fun. I can almost taste the funnel cake and home fries. Oh the joys of milling around and soaking it all up. Jealousy!

Congratulations on your podcasts! Hope you have fun with that as well as all of your goodies! (And while I always appreciate the kindness of bloggers who email after comments, never feel like you need too with me... there are only so many hours in the day, and I think visiting each others blogs is just as friendly!)

I understand completely!! I've had the same troubles - but starting each day as a new day is the best way I know to get a handle on things :) Love your recent acquisitions!!

I'm a relatively new blogger, and I find I'm usually at one extreme or the other. I ignore the blog for days, or I'm bleary-eyed from reading and typing and reading some more.
Thanks for the Quilternity info. I scurried right over & just ordered some Australian fabrics I've wanted. Thanks!
