Unveiling the Strata Quilt and Project Improv....

Hello Everyone,

WARNING, sunglasses may be need for this picture heavy bright post. As promised, I have pictures of my strata quilt on my design wall . I love it!! I hope you do too!

I have starting piecing the rows together and it is really looking great. That is a little bit of a slower process. I am very meticulous!

On to my next batch of pictures. I have joined in on Jacquie's Project Improv. You can find the button on my side bar. First I want to tell you that blue is so not my color, but I love these blocks. I had some batik scraps left over from a project and decided to use those. Now we were only supposed to make one block, but as you can see I got carried away and made four!!

Each has a different middle piece and they are all log cabinish wonky style. What do you think?

I took individual pictures of each block, notice the different centers.

Then a couple of pile pictures.

Then two layout pictures.

Now all I have to do is upload them to Jacquie's Flickr group, later today, and then send them to her. Thanks for sparking some creativeness, Jacquie.

Stay tuned for my announcement coming later this week. Until then,

Love the blue and green blocks. I chose pink/orange as pink is not one of my favorites to work with. Am toying with trying a couple more before I send it off! Looking forward to more strat quilt photos!

LOVE how cheery your photos are for me this a.m. I love the blue/green as those ARE my colors!!! And your bright pinks, etc. are really super. (I think those are the ones your family didn't like?? Guess they are afraid of color, huh?)

Wow that is a jewel! It looks like gems placed edge to edge. That bright pink is a hard color to photograph too so I imagine it is even more wonderful in real life.

The blue green is so tranquil and such a contrast with the other pictures. The blocks are VERY nice.

Your strata quilt heated things up, and your blue and green improv blocks cooled things down. What a great balance. Looking forward to seeing the improv quilts.

Jackie, I LOVE the strata blocks, and the wonky log cabin ones as well. Of course, there isn't too much fabric that I don't like. :-)

Very nice. Makes me think of clear blue waters of the Caribbean that I have seen in pictures.

What uplifting, happy, saturated colors! I love it all! What a treat for us to look at. AND you are prolific, Jackie! Where do you find all the time???? I am so envious! I can see a quilt made w/ all your leftover scraps a la Wanda's favorite on the sidebar at Exuberant Color blog. I hope you are staying indoors and warm. Thanks for sharing!
