A Finish and Cinco De Mayo????

Hello Everyone,

As promised, I finished quilting my Paisley Party quilt. I love it. I have also machine applied the binding so it is ready to be hand sewn to the back. I feel such satisfaction right now. You all know that feeling, right? Well here is the completed quilt...

I quilted it with a paisley design. Why not, it is definitely in keeping with the theme. I used a variegated rayon thread. The colors were all shades of yellows and oranges.  Love it! I think this quilt will be well used and loved.

With the scraps, I again used my AccuQuilt and cut up them into 3.5 inch squares and made this little table topper. I have since quilted this one with a paisley design, as well. It is really sweet!

One last eye candy picture. I have never done this before in my 9 years of business. I have a wonderful customer, her name is Susan. She sends me the most beautiful quilts to be quilted. She has been a customer of mine for a long time. Well, she e-mailed me one day and said she was shipping me a quilt that was "so me" and that I would love it. I have to say that ALL her quilts are "so me" and I love all of them.

So what could this quilt possibly be..... hmmmm. I got the box and couldn't wait to open it. When I did, I had to wipe the drool off my chin and floor.  It was a beautiful Cinco De Mayo quilt. The funny thing is that I have Karen Stone's book and had full intentions of making this quilt. Well, after drooling over this quilt for days. I finally got up the nerve and called Susan and asked if I could buy it from her.

She wasn't giving it to anyone and she said, YES! I was thrilled!!! So I bought this beautifully crafted quilt top from Susan. Now all I have to do is quilt it and it will hang in my foyer. It will replace the Easy Stash quilt that has been hanging for about 5 years. I can't wait. So once again Thank you, Susan, you are terrific and so is the quilt!!

Isn't it fabulous???!!!

Until Next Time,

Jackie, Love how your Paisley Party quilt turned out. You know, you always have great ideas...I have never thought of using variegated thread before. Your design, as always was fitting and so perfect. Ah, table topper quilts...I love them and of course, this is no exception. Perfect for spring and summer....which here in the cold, I so long for. Ahhh. Finally, how great is that quilt your custoer made...and I can't believe she was willing to part with it. Lucky you. It really is cool.

Beautiful Paisley Party quilt. When do you find the time to make a quilt for yourself?
I'm curious as to where do you find customers like Susan? The Cinco De Mayo quilt is really you! Have fun with it and we all can't wait to see how you decide to quilt it.

Your quilt and table topper are a good shot of spring colors for this frigid winter. Paisley quilting was perfect.

I have thought about doing the Cinco De Mayo quilt too, but I don't start it because I don't think I would ever finish it.

Wonderful! I love the Karen Stone quilts. I have one started.. 3 blocks in and that's as far as I got on the Indian Orange Peel. Maybe someday I'll pick it up again.

Have a great weekend.

Love your quilt and table topper, nothing feels better than the sewing down of the binding, well usless it is fresh and warm from the dryer.
The the other top, bright fun colors, how nice of her to sell it to you. I wish I had a fairy godmother that would do all my tops, for my favorite part is the hand quilting, can't wait to see what you come up with for the top.

Canton, where? Canton, NC is next door to me. Hope that is the Canton because I'd love to get to see your work in person.

wOW - what amazing quilts. I just love color in my quilts and both the quilts you show are just vibrant and alive. I am working on a KScope quilt with lots of color, and want to use it in my house, but my house colors are so drab compared to the quilt. Maybe I should just paint all the walls white and splash colorful quilts everywhere.

How yummy! Love the paisley quilting on your new quilt. We love all of Karen Stone's patterns. This top is awesome. Karen came to our guild a few years ago, so I bought the book and Karen gave my daughter a hibiscus pattern. Julia used it to make a tote bag for school. We keep thinking we'll make a NY Beauty together someday.

OH MAN! Such beautiful stuff, Jackie! Do you have to send back the Cinco de Mayo quilt so Susan can say a proper goodbye???? That is one on my "to do (someday)" list as well! Of course, then I saw the 4th of July quilt over at Nedra's...

How lucky are you?! Susan's (now your) quilt is WONDERFUL! Paper piecing sure takes a long time too! Was this woman in her right mind?! You are a very lucky gal! I love the table topper too esp as the colors remind me of summer and warmer weather and no coats for the kids. I am glad the accu-cut got your seal of approval! It is great when a purchased tool works as intended. The applique continues on here although slower as colds strike us in Granby. I hope you enjoyed today's balmy weather. It was great not having to bundle all the kiddies up so tight.
