Second Set Finished

Hello Everyone,

As most of you know, I am participating in The Quilt Show's BOM Star Crazy. I am also a member of the Star Crazy Log, a blog dedicated solely to this BOM. Participants of this BOM post their progress there.

Well, when I began this undertaking, I professed that I was going to do two quilts simultaneously! I am done with my second set of stars for the first month, yay!! So without further adieu, here they are...

Unlike the first set, these have a dark background of Kona Charcoal.

Also, unlike the first set, they have bright Kaffe Fassett fabrics making up the stars.

This version although very different than the first, I love equally as much.

Nothing beats bright fabrics on a dark background.

Here are the two sets together. One soft and sweet, one bold and bright. Totally different, but they both make my heart sing.

Don't forget, there is still time to enter the giveaway. You can scroll down to the previous post and follow the instructions or just click on over to Amy's to find out the details. It is open until the 22nd! Good Luck!!

Until Next Time...

wow, I'm not a fan of Kaffe Fassett fabrics but your blocks are looking so pretty! I adore the Aunt Grace blocks, really yummy!

My favorite are the second set of stars. The dark Kona looks like denim, that gives me an idea . . .

Beautiful! I have been working on the prep work for TQS applique BOM. I have block 1 prepped and glued but need to stitch it. Block 2 is in the process of prepping. There are a lot of layered flowers in block 2.

Oh, my! It's like you can see inside my head. I don't know if you remember all my Kaffe Fassett HSTs on my "design wall" for the value quilt. But my "design wall" was a dark blue (almost, but not quite navy) flannel sheet. I thought the saturated colors int he Kaffes looked marvelous against the dark blue, and many people made the same observation. As I was cutting my way through my stack of Kona blues (from light to dark, bright to grayed) I was thinking that I just had to pick out a blue or blue gray as a background for a project. I fell asleep envisioning it.

I've never seen the charcoal in real life. I'm assuming it's darker than the Kona Coal?

Anyway -- really beautiful! Have fun!

Love both sets of stars. I appreciate being able to see them side by side. Thanks for the photo.
Interesting how the little "butterfly" in the middle of each star is easy to spot in the dark background and I didn't even notice it with the light.

Wow -- the Kaffe fabrics absolutely glow with that charcoal as background!! Stunning. And the softer '30s ones are so lovely and cheerful. What a great duo!
