Sharing My Good Fortune With You!!!

Hello Everyone,

First off, I wanted to share two more photos of lovely people I was able to see again at Quilt Market.

The lovely Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs. She is such a sweet person with such beautiful designs. Pop in to say hello to her, you will be glad you did.

Also, the wonderful Lynette Anderson and her son Eddie. Lynette has a project featured on the cover and inside the magazine Quilt Country, a French magazine. So if you can get your hands on it, you need too. They are always a pleasure to see!

Now onto the good stuff, (not that the previous wasn't good, because it was great!), I have a BIG giveaway for you.

As you know going to Quilt Market, you often come home with wonderful goodies. This year, I brought home things with a giveaway in mind. So here is the deal:

There are 5 (FIVE), yes 5 chances to win. Here are the prizes:

First up, a layer cake and jelly roll of Moda's Hunky Dory line. Just beautiful!

Second, the highly sought after Moda Sampler box. You get a beautiful sampling of some of their most popular lines of fabric.

Third up, Kay Capps Cross's newest book Black and White and Pieced All Over. I assure you, this is phenomenal.

Fourth, a charm pack of Kona Cotton Solids with 40 different Kona Colors. Now you just can't beat that!

Fifth, a charm pack and fat quarter of Northcott's gorgeous new line, Leading Ladies.

The scoop (what you need to do to be entered)...
  1. Write a comment on this post for one entry.
  2. For a second entry, sign up for my newsletter by clicking on the link on my sidebar. Then write another comment telling me that you did so.
  3. If you are already a subscriber, leave a separate comment telling me you subscribe.
  4. For a third entry, become a follower of my blog and then write another comment letting me know you are a new follower.
  5. If you are already a follower, just remind me in a separate comment.
  6. Blog about the giveaway and link back to my blog, leave another comment for a fourth entry.
Each comment must be separate so you will have 4 chances to win if you do every item!! They all must be individual comments so that I can keep track.

** You must also have a way for me to contact you, e-mail or blog is fine.**

The giveaway will remain open until Midnight EST on November 2. I will do the drawing on November 3, 2009.

Good Luck to everyone!!

"Hey... Don't I Know You???" Quilt Market #6

Hello Everyone,

First some business... some quilty inspiration has just been uploaded to my gallery. Go there and look under the Recent Additions. Beautiful quilts!!

Now onto more Quilt Market. One of the distinct advantages to going to market, is that you meet up with some very cool people. Some quilting celebrities, some friends, some blogging buddies, well you get the idea.

Anyway, it is like old home week! Such fun and such great people. So lets see who I ran into...

First up the lovely Brenda Riddle from Little Acorns. It was nice to see her again, she is just the sweetest and has a great new line of fabric out with Lecien. Go say hello and tell her Jackie sent you!

Then Melly and Me. Their booth is always so packed and lively. If you read their blogs you know that they have tons of fun stuff. You can see Melly here laughing with customers.

A little sampling of their cute plushes!

Here is the very sweet Rosalie. Always fun to speak to and she also has a new line of fabric out with Lecien. Definitely check it out it is just beautiful!

I am not sure that these three need any introduction. But here goes, from left to right, Elizabeth of Late Bloomer Quilts, Alex Anderson of The Quilt Show, and Pam Viera-McGinnis of Pam Kitty Morning. They are just too fun!! I always look forward to seeing them. You can see that Alex is holding a prototype of her newest venture, The Quilt Life. A magazine that will begin publication in January, 2010. Congrats to Alex and Ricky!

These two people you may not recognize, but are very significant in my life. Dan Purcell and Wendy Anspach. They work at Danemco... Websites For Quilters. Dan is the one who created my website and is currently working on a top secret project with me!! Shhhhh.... Anyway, they are terrific!

Pam and I helping Quilt Market celebrate 30 years with a little bubbly.

Their beautiful ice carving.

These people you should know, from left to right, Rachel, me, Julie, and Vickie. We kept running into each other all over market. What a fun bunch of gals.

Here Kay Capps Cross. She has written several books on Black and White Quilts that are paper pieced. Here she is signing her newest for me!!

The next celebrity has two clues... first the quilt.

Then the shoe. Do you know who it is yet?

It is Mary Lou Weidman! Here I am with her. She is also signing her newest book for me. It is a fantastic book. Tons of great inspiration and fun.

Her is Pam with Eleanor Levie. Eleanor has written another new book on Skinny Quilts and Table Runners. This book features tons of wonderful quilters.

I always enjoy meeting up with Barbara Jones of Quilt Soup. She is such a delight! Barbara also has a new fabric line with Henry Glass, it is absolutely beautiful. She has a new book too, which I was able to snag!

And last, but certainly not least, I met up with Vicki Welsh. She is a blogging buddy. If you have never been to her blog, you need to go now! It is called Field Trips in Fiber. Her blog is always jam packed with fun stuff. Not only that, but she hand dyes the most beautiful fabric and sells them on her Etsy Shop. How do I know, well I have made a few purchases. Trust me they are fabulous!! Tell her I said hello! She is super nice and I was so pleased to meet her in person.

So if you come back next time to my blog, there may be just a little surprise or two.

Until Next Time...

Inside and Outside Quilt Market #5

Hello Everyone,

Yes, I know you are probably all asking yourselves... "Isn't she done yet with those Quilt Market posts?" Clearly the answer is no. But rest assured I have thousands of pictures... only kidding. Really, I am weeding through them and taking only ones that I think might interest you.

But first, go over to my Etsy shop and take a look at the new 1930s charm packs and die cut circles I added. Shameful plug for my shop, sorry.

Okay, now onto the fun inside market...

Looking down onto the market floor anxiously waiting for the doors to open!

My travel partner/friend Pam chomping at the bit to get into market. Right now she is home nursing a sore mouth due to some oral surgery, ouch. Pam rest up and eat lots of ice cream, this is one time in your life you can use that excuse and not feel guilty. Please go and wish her well and say hello...

Ahhh... the ever popular Moda Bake Shop Booth. See the quilt that I quilted there?

Wait here is a closer look. Vickie, the Mid Ohio Quilter pieced it, I quilted it, and then it was on Moda Bake Shop. How cool is that? The tutorial and pattern is called Candy Buttons. Say Hi to Vickie for me while you are there.

Then I ran into Rachel (ps. I quilt!) and Julie (jaybird quilts). They were all over the place, really fun and nice. Go over to their blogs and say hello!

Now the outside market portion of the post. So across from the convention center there is a really great little park. A nice little place to eat that has the best sweet potato fries ever. This year they had an Eco globe exhibit. Each one was different and showed us how to go green.

Here is the colorful mosaic bathrooms.

Some people painting in the park. Their shirts look like good quilting fabric, don't you think?

This one was a little weird. They were having some kind of animal/environment/hunting thing going on. This one vendor had this rack of "racks"... ha ha. Anyway, it was kind of strange to see stuffed animals just hanging out there. A little boy about 3 years old had walked up while we were standing there and exclaimed "Whooooooooaaaaaa"!

Another eco globe.

So that is it for this post, more to come next time. You just never know what you might find or see. Make sure you stop back.

Until Next Time...

Sample Spree... Wheeee!! Quilt Market #4

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back for Quilt Market post #4!! We are now off to Sample Spree. This follows Schoolhouse on the first day of market. So we are pretty much plum tuckered out. Sample Spree opens up at 8:00 and here we are waiting in line just a little before 6:00! Yikes! But we are with friends and amongst quilters.

Here Laura of Quilting By the Yard, and Pam are sitting resting their feet looking happy but tired.

Don't worry ladies, the doors will open soon.

The masses.

Michelle, of Quilting by the Yard, looking a little weary.

The entrance to quilty paradise.

My loot! I just love all that I picked up. Lots of Kona solids, some 30s, some Lecien, patterns. So much fun ahead. Not the best photo, there are some things that you cannot see. Those are the ones that might end up some where unknown. You just never know, I'm just sayin'!

But I think that Pam won the prize with her loot. Just to let you in on a little secret... she had to use the extra duffle bag, that I packed, in order to get all her stuff home!!!

Don't forget, if you are interested in making some pillowcases for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, please go to this post and read all about it.

That was a quick post for now! The next one will be fun at market. Stay tuned...

Until Next Time...
