Your Thoughts, Please...

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a productive and delightful week! I have and have been contemplating a new project. I have sorted through all my Kaffe fabrics, fondled, folded, refolded, washed, refolded, sorted... well you get the picture. Many were in my stash and many purchased from Terri.

Any way as much fun as that is, I think I have chosen the fabrics that I would like to use in my next project. Here is the photo below of the ones that I have chosen.

A nice selection of ROYGBIV, wouldn't you say?

I am thinking of pairing them up with Kona white. For whatever reason, I am desiring a crisp, clear quilt with this project. Maybe I am channeling Rita. What do you think of the colors that I picked? Are there any that you don't think belong? What do you think about pairing them with Kona white? Your opinions would be appreciated and then hopefully next week, I can show you some progress.

Don't forget to check my gallery for new customer updates. I have also added some of my own quilts for sale in my Etsy shop. Hope you have a terrific weekend!

Until Next Time,

No Gray Here

Hello Everyone,

On my last post, I had said there was a lot of "unsewing" going on. Well that is still happening! Ugh! But, because that can be tedious and boring, at best, I needed a distraction. Something that could be whipped up pretty quick. So I made 2 more Sweet Treat bags.

I tell you I am addicted to these! I love them and they are just the perfect size to put your notions in and carry around to class.

So this time I did a black and white and orange stripe! My inspiration from this came from the last two photos. But we will get to these.

The Back

The Front

The above bag is now available for sale on my Etsy shop! The next one was a custom order. The original one had sold on my Etsy store. So a new one was custom made for this customer!

Love the pink stripe!

A forgotten Hosta photo from last post.

So here was my inspiration for the first bag. My friend Justine (no blog) came over the other day to pick up her finished quilt and brought over this little bag. Some of you may recognize it from Rachel's Tutorial . It is the Friendship Bag. How cute is Justine's version?

Really Sweet!!

She said it was super easy!

I was also able to update my gallery with the last of the Project Improv quilts. These were some of the last quilts to be quilted for Jacquie. So go check them out. They are just fabulous!!

If you haven't already, go check out my newest Podcast. You can find it here or on iTunes. I would love if you have listened to it, if you would leave a review on iTunes. Any feedback or suggestions would be so helpful. Just send me an e-mail.

Oops, almost forgot, check out Heather's fantastic quilt giveaway... Go Here NOW!

Well off to do some more "unsewing". YUCK!!

Not Much "Sewin'" On Here....

Hello Everyone,

Well, that is not totally true. I have gotten a little sewing done, but it is a top secret project. But I have also had a lot of "UNSEWING" going on. But I really don't want to talk about that. Have you ever had just a bad run of unsewing?

So I thought, until I post again on Sunday, I would leave you with a bigger tour of my garden's gorgeous flowers.

Beautiful Pink Dahlia

Beautiful Yellow and Pink Dahlia

So there you have it a brief but beautiful tour of my garden. Ahhh.... I just love this time of the year! True signs of summer. Don't forget to click on the photos for a better look.

Flower Power

Hello Everyone,

I hope that everyone has had a terrific week! I have, this is the first week that I feel we have had some "summer" weather. I am so happy, I live for the heat. Apparently, my flowers do too. I can't believe I actually have these flowers growing in my garden.

This is the first year that I planted them and they are gorgeous! I just love the colors.

Don't you just love them? I can't remember, but I think they are Dahlias. Do any of you know for sure?

On another note, I recently won a giveaway on Kim's blog and received these wonderful little goodies. The bag is soooo cute and, of course, also has flowers on it. She included a 1930's repro fat quarter (which I love!!) and 2 bars of truffles and a popcorn corn on the cob.

What is in the picture is what is left. I couldn't wait to eat the goodies. I savored the Utah Chocolate Raspberry Truffle (a favorite) and ate the popcorn promptly! I couldn't help myself... YUM! Thanks so much, Kim!

Even with the sun out this week, I did manage to get some sewing in and added some new things to my Etsy shop.

But the big news is that I posted my 4th Podcast episode. It is available here and also on iTunes. This Podcast is all about batting... the different kinds available, how to choose what is right for you quilting project, and terminology that you might often hear. If you subscribe to my Podcast through iTunes, would you mind taking the time to leave a review there. I would greatly appreciate it. I hope you enjoy this one. I am having lots of fun doing them!!

Also, my monthly E-newsletter has gone out and is also available here for you to read.

Well I am off to enjoy the sunny weekend here! It is going to be a perfect 2 days.... 0% chance of rain. Yahoo!!

Edit: I forgot to mention 2 spectacular giveaways...

Go check them out!

Until Next Time....

I Just Have to Show You This

Hello Everyone,

As many of you know, I am a long arm quilter. Also, many of you know that I not really a blue (fabric color) person. But when my friend Deb brought this quilt to me to quilt, I just fell in love. So I had to show you the quilt and the quilting I did on it. Don't forget to click on the photos for a close up and personal look.

Isn't it gorgeous! And to think she is giving this as a wedding gift?! I would be so happy to receive something like this.

As you can see I chose a variety of feathers to quilt this top. I am just a fan of feathers. Actually I think they are meant for this quilt.

I had actually called her during the process of quilting and told her that this would look great hanging behind her bed. I also suggested she start looking for another wedding gift. LOL!

When she saw it she loved it too and thought about keeping it, but she really wanted to give it as a gift. They are one lucky couple! Deb did such a wonderful job piecing this.

Now I couldn't leave you without some pictures of our new little kitty, Pavi. There have been some requests to show more. So here is the sweet little boy.

Just relaxing on the window seat.

What a great finish... his cute little paw.

In other news, this week I updated my Etsy shop with some die cut Dresdens. I also updated my website gallery with some more quilty inspiration. So go check it out. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Until Next Time.....

On Their Way....

Hello Everyone,

Yay!! I finished my Wonky Houses for Jane's Spooktacular Halloween Swap. I really had fun doing these blocks and used Lazy Gal Tonya's Free Piecing technique.

So I finished them all up and put them in the mail to Jane. I can't wait to see what I get back.

Here is a sneaky peek...

More houses....

Nine patches...

Fun and frightening fabrics! Love them all! See you all on the weekend with another update. Hope you are all having a great day!

Until Next Time....

To Dye For

Hello Everyone,

So I have been kind of all over the place, meaning disorganized, with my thoughts and my days. Nothing seems to have any rhyme or reason. Maybe it is just the freeness of the summer days. Speaking of summer, we may actually hit 90 degrees today. They say it will be the first time since April!! Hard to believe that we have gone almost all summer without getting HOT.

So anyway, I have done a little fabric shopping on Etsy and I wanted to share my yummy finds with you.

First up, dyed fabrics from Vicki Welsh. She does some wonderful "tie dye" type fabrics that are just gorgeous! I love the color selection. You must check her out, some really nice choices. Plus, don't forget to check out her blog!

Here was my pick.... what else but pink hues!

Next up is Chris's hand dyed fabric. You can find her fabrics at her Etsy shop Dye Candy. Cute name.... love it!

This time I picked more melon like colors ranging from yellows to of course, pinks. These are not tie dyed they look more solid or suede like. Wonderful selection as well and fabulous colors. Love them all!! Make sure you check out her blog too!

Then I went onto Karen's shop Ruby Mountain Dye Works. Karen also has some absolutely gorgeous hand dyes. Her fabrics are a little more of a mottled or marbled look. Just yummy!
You can see that I chose a color gradation of the rainbow.

She also sent me this little handmade bookmark from her fabrics. I just love it! These are also on her Etsy shop as well.

So if you are in the mood for some yummy fabrics to build into your stash, check these ladies out. They are quite talented and each have beautifully unique products.

I also wanted to let you know that I have added some die cut dresden plates to my Etsy shop. They are in the 1930s reproduction fabrics. I think you will like them!

Until Next Time.....
