Hi Everyone,
Well during the time of my giveaway, I was working hard on making progress on Peg's and Eileen's summer challenges.
First I am working hard on finishing my Ramblin Rose BOM. Here are pictures of the log cabin blocks in process.
Here is my little Beanie modeling the 3 rows I have sewn together.
I also have put the binding on by machine on these 2 quilts. I am in the process of hand sewing the 30's repro and then will do the Mambo quilt.
Amongst all this progress, I also joined Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs in sending a few magazines to Julia in Germany. How cool is this random act of kindness....love it!!!
I have also been busy with customer quilts and have posted a few on my website. So go check them out.
Have a terrific week and happy quilting!!

We Have a Winner.....Drum Roll Please!!!
Hi Everyone,
Well, first I want to thank all of you for coming and visiting me at my blog!! And thanks for the Birthday wishes!! I tried to respond to all comments and am still in the process. What fun it has been for me to "meet" all of you. If you didn't get an e-mail from me, you can rest assured that I have visited ALL of your blogs. (those of you that have blogs) What a talented bunch of people!!
Anyway without further adooooooo, here is what the color combination I picked:
For those of you who guess it correctly, you received 2 entries, if not only 1. If you posted about it and linked back to my blog, you received another entry. So some of you had 3 entries, some 2 and some only 1.
Unfortunately, we did not have a very scientific way to go about it. My daughter hand wrote all the entries down either 1,2, or 3 times. This is the pot of names.
Here is the winner:
It is Margi from Maverick Crafter! Congratulations Margi!! You will be receiving an e-mail from me or if you see this first e-mail me. We will arrange for you to have a quilt top quilted.
Thanks again to everyone, and I hope to see you all again soon!!

A Bag, A Cat, and A Giveaway!!!!
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the weekend!! I have been busy again. Yesterday in between working on customer quilts, I made this quick and easy bag.
I love it and am already using it. I made it from this magazine.
This is the pattern.
But instead of using dish towels, I used some stash fabric!! The funky multi-colored fabric is from Ikea. I bought it last year, I paired it with this Kona Fuschia fabric (my fave!!). So I had to modify the directions somewhat. I think the results are terrific! I used 2 funky buttons from Prints Charming...love them!!
Now for my naughty kitty Rolo. The other night I was working on completing my BOM that I taught at my local quilt shop, when Rolo decided to help. Here he is laying in various positions on my instructions and next to my machine.
Here he is helping piece a block. Now imagine a 22 pound cat placing his paws on your block as you are feeding the fabric through the sewing machine and then nipping at YOUR fingers. I think he wanted to do it all by himself and I was getting in the way. I love this cat, but he was really in my way. But I did complete the blocks!
Now onto my giveaway.... I have decided to do another mystery by mail through Glad Creations Quilt Block as a treat to myself for my birthday. I did one a few years ago through them and love the quilt! That one was also a birthday present to me.
So anyway, here is what they do, they send you swatches of fabric in 3 different color ways and you choose the one that you like. This time I couldn't resist, I saw one that I just had to do. They will send me all my fabric and the 1st clue, which is usually the cutting instructions. Then 3 weeks later you get the next clue. Do that then 3 weeks later...well you get the picture! I think there are either 5 or 6 clues until you are done. At the end you have a beautiful quilt! If you are interested go to their website and sign up...it is fun!
Anyway, here are the 3 sets of fabric swatches I had to choose from. All you have to do is guess the one that I chose. Please guess by number...the top being #1, the middle being # 2, and the bottom being #3.
So here is how the giveaway will work:
* Guess the color way I chose. Don't worry if you don't guess it correctly you will still have one entry in the giveaway. If you guess it correctly you will get 2 entries in the giveaway.
* Blog about my giveaway on your blog with a link back to this post and you will receive an additional entry (whether or not your guess is correct)!
* If you don't have a blog, you may still enter, but you need to provide me with a way to contact you. Preferably by e-mail.
Here is the prize.......Drum roll please.....I will quilt for FREE any quilt of yours up to a twin size. I will quilt it with an overall or edge to edge design. I will even pay for the shipping back to you and I will provide the batting! The only thing you will need to do is get it to me...no problem!! For those of you who don't know, I am a Professional Long Arm Quilter in business for 8 years. You can check out my work here on my website...www.cvquiltworks.com.
The giveaway will be open until my birthday (June 23). I will draw the lucky winner on June 24!
So good luck to all!!!
Have a great weekend and a Happy Father's Day to all the men in our lives!!

I've Been Busy...
Hi Everyone,
It has been a little while and I have been busy. Mostly busy working on customer quilts, which you can see the newest ones loaded on my website under recent additions. But, I have also been doing things for myself. I first found myself in a rut and wanting to sew but not doing anything about it.
So I decided that I really wanted to watch my Red Sox play, which is a nightly occurrence anyway. But, I thought that I would do some stitcheries. I have been working on my seed packet stitcheries and really enjoying the outcome. The picture is not the best but, I think it will give you a good idea. This is the latest one completed.
I have also been working on Lynette's Anderson's free Noah's Ark BOM. I haven't taken a picture of it yet as I am still working on the cows. So I am a little behind, since this month's block is already out and they are the cutest kangaroos. EDIT: Lynette is doing a giveaway on her blog for a new pattern. Check it out and enter!! Hurry she is drawing on Monday!
In my last post I showed you my colorful wedges but I didn't show you what came before them. I had some strips left over from a project a few years ago and created this circle with my wedge ruler as my "prototype". It is all Kaffe fabrics and I love it! But I only have one. I will just have to find fabrics to make another to match!
Oh, I almost forgot...I completed the body of my M.E. quilt. Now I just have to put the borders on. That always seems to take the longest for me to do. By the way, this quilt took one jelly roll and the pattern is by Miss Rosie's Quilt Company and is called Storyteller.
I have a couple of other projects in the works and I will post about them over the weekend. You'll want to check back because, you will see some naughty cat antics and a giveaway!!!!
Until then...Happy Quilting!!

Me In a Movie at a Quilt Retreat???
Hi Folks,
I have some really exciting and cool news! This past weekend my friends, Pam, Justine, and I went on a retreat to Vermont. Country Treasures Quilt Shop was hosting the retreat and it was a blast! However, the day before the retreat they phoned us and asked if we wanted to be extras in a movie. What movie???
They explained that there were filmmakers in town through mid June making a film called Mistletoe. It will be on the Hallmark channel between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Two of the stars are Tom Arnold (Roseanne Barr's Ex) and Candace Cameron (DJ on the old show Full House). Wow, we were excited! They said there was a catch, we had to bring winter coats, hats, gloves, etc. After all, it is a winter movie.
So we did and yes, we got to see both stars and strategically placed ourselves in scenes very close to them. So hopefully we will make the cut and you will get to see our ugly mugs when the time comes! What fun it was, but there was always a lot of hurry up and wait!
Any way, here are a few pictures of Chester, VT and the Fullerton Inn transformed into Santaville. My friend Justine, is e-mailing me more pictures of our brushes with fame.
Now onto the quilting.....
We had such fun! We had demos...
We had lots of show and tell. Here are a few pictures. I will put the rest in a flickr set and you can view them there, as there are many.
We even had Belly Dancing to limber us up!
Here is some of what I worked on. This was inspired by Amy at Mrs. Schmenkman Quilts. She is such an inspiration. Thanks Amy!
After all was said and done, I came home and updated my website here with pictures of customer quilts. I also sent out my June 2008 Newsletter. If you would like to subscribe, please do!
Check back for more pictures of my retreat adventures!
Have a great day and happy quilting!
