New Project??

Hello Everyone,

I know we all are working on multiple projects at any given time. I am just like everyone else. It seems like I am always thinking ahead.

I have been collecting dotty fabric for quite some time now. It appears that I now have them in every color way possible.

This is just a glimpse into what I have in my stash.

Darks, lights, different color backgrounds from red to blue. Saved up for one special project.

The cover quilt on this Spring, 2006 issue of Quilts and More.

It is called Dotty Stars and is by Piece O Cake designs. I just love it!!

You can really see the variations in the background colors here. What do you think of this project?? I know I may not get to it in the immediate future. But I will get to it! In the meantime, I can continue to add to the dots in my collection.

And since I just got back from the new AQS show in Lancaster, I had no problem in adding to my stash while there. There will be more on that in some posts later this week. Now I just have to find a place to put it all!!

Until Next Time...

Polka dot stash envy! I LOVE spots and dots and my stash is no where near what you have. That will be a fantastic quilt.

Love all those dots, especially the dots on a black background. Should make a striking quilt!

I have a lot of dots but you have me beat. My guild is exchanging 10 inch squares of dots for the next three months. A set is 12 squares and I am planning on doing 3 sets each month to add more variety to my dotty stash. I can't wait.

Ooooh... is yours going to have a black background instead of white? I love it either way. And I am totally jealous of those polka dots.

I am working on my big wheels/candy-looking-circles quilt, which was inspired by you, and I should have pictures up soon.

Look at all those dots...how fun! That pattern is just the most perfect for your dotty stash!

Your stash is so bright and fresh and just screams SPRING!!! I think the quilt is a good one for your stash. I have to say your hexagons inspire me and I love your organization.

I have always loved this quilt - even with all the bright colors, it still has a nice neat and clean appearance. The entire pattern with directions is a free download on APQ :

That looks like a great project! I have been collecting dot fabrics too and have yet to decide on a specific project for them, but they sure are fun to look at in the meantime!

We are so alike! I have the polka dots collection too...and that magazine is tucked into the basket of polka dot fabrics!

Collecting the dots is just as much fun as making the quilt. I have lots of leftover pieces from my last dotty quilt that have been calling my name. I haven't decided what quilt to make yet though. I like the one you are going to do.

I love that pattern -- perfect for your dots collection. What is it about dots? I hope to eventually do a dotted quilt too -- but haven't figured out what pattern yet.

Very nice! So funny that you have Quilts & More from 2006! I was just thinking about throwing out all my older magazines, but now I'm not so sure...

What a stash! What a quilt. It will be fantastic and super fun...definitely worth ripping out those pattern pages and tucking them into your dotty stash shelf for a week with more time (someone is working on inventing that, right?)!

i have that same quilt marked down for "one day"

Very cute pattern and I LOVE your bright dotty stash.

If I were making this quilt I think I would have a bit more contrast in the background blocks - too much expanse of white for my tastes.

I've made a quilt out of all polka dots, and it was so fun to collect fabrics. It looks like you've got a great start. The Piece O' Cake pattern is a perfect selection.

Love that quilt, Jackie! I have a stack of dots that have been waiting around to become Piece O' Cake's Everyday Best quilt. Heh heh heh, I'm not sure where that stack might be at this very minute and I'm sure I have more to add to it since it first began. Lovely! Isn't it fun to make plans?

I simply love the Dotty Stars pattern. Seeing it makes me want to build one! I have collected dot fabrics for years and this would be a great way to use them. Can't wait to see this one finished!
