Trunk Show

Hello Everyone,

It seems like it has been FOREVER since I composed a REAL blog post.  I guess that is one of the things that gets put aside when you are away on vacation and then return.  Once I returned, I had a TON of work to get caught up on and the first thing on the agenda was a trunk show and lecture at the Artful Hands Quilt Guild.

I returned early in the morning on Tuesday and then later that day headed to Massachusetts to present to this wonderful guild.  No time for resting after vacation... LOL!

I would like to share a few photos from that night.

This quilt is Raindrops.

This is A Touch of Spring.

This is Golden Harvest.

All these patterns are paper pieced and Judy Niemeyer patterns. They can all be found in my shop by clicking here.

The above photos are just a small sampling of my trunk show you can see more by clicking here.

One of my favorite parts of going to a guild is the show and tell!  Here are a few quilts that the members shared.

Love the design and the lime green.

Does this one look familiar??? It is the FREE Blogger's BOM!! You can still make this one just look on the right side bar and ALL the links are there for each block!

This was gorgeous and had some Kaffe fabric too!

All in all it was a wonderful night.  This was the second time that this guild had me there and I totally enjoyed being there again.  Thank you for having me.

I will be heading back there next weekend to teach the members a workshop!  Can't wait!!

If you want to see more photos of the trunk show, just click here.

Until Next Time...

Rainbow's End

Hello Everyone,

It is finally here!  My newest design, Rainbow's End, using beautiful Australian Aboriginal Fabrics from M & S Textiles.  I had a ton of fun using these bright and bold fabrics.  Something that, as many of you know, I LOVE!!!

Let's take a little peek..

Here is a close up.  The colors are bold and bright.  For the quilting I chose to do pebbles for texture.  This is such a busy quilt the quilting is hardly noticeable.  But I love the texture!

The sashing helps for the division of the blocks.  This design uses 2.5 inch strips so you can easily make this quilt from your stash if you prefer.

The backing was also from the same collection and was used on the front of the quilt as well.

Beautiful, just like a rainbow, right??

The whole quilt.  But the best part is it is published, just out now in the current issue of Simple Quilts and Sewing.  You, too, can have this pattern or if you like a kit from my shop!

The magazine is available for purchase here.

Photos from the magazine...

Love it on the bed!

A great flat shot of the quilt.

If you would like to make it in the exact same fabrics you can purchase the kits in my shop by clicking here.  I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!  And, it will put a little sunshine at your Rainbow's End!!

Oh... don't forget to enter my giveaway going on here...

Fun With Friends

Hello Everyone,

As you may know by now, I am away on a little break while the hubs is managing the home front.  I am extremely happy to be here in sunny Arizona with my family too!

While here I always make it a point to meet up with my long time blogging friend Nedra, of Cactus Needle!  It is alway soooo nice to see her and I am hoping to get some sewing time in with her soon.

Today was extra special though, I finally was able to meet with the extremely talented Alyssa of Pile O Fabric.  I met her virtually over the past year through blogging and became a sponsor of her fabulous blog!  It was so nice to meet here face to face today and she is just as sweet as she is virtually.  You must visit her blog for some great quilty inspiration.  I am doing a wonderful giveaway on her blog on Friday, so make sure that you stop by then too.

Here we are together...

Alyssa, Nedra, and Me.

It was a fun day and I hope to do it again soon!  The weather doesn't hurt either when we just had 4 more inches of snow back home!

Until Next Time...

Yay!! Finally Back to Business!

Hello Everyone,

Last month when we had Blizzard Nemo, it prevented me from teaching my second session of the Glacier Star in Vermont.  Yesterday, I was finally able to get back there to get the second session going!!

I had a terrific time with these ladies as I always do... here are some glimpses of the happening yesterday.

Yesterday's blog post was about variations and here are more.  All these ladies have fabulous variations on the NY Beauty blocks.  They all turned out lovely!

They began their Lone Star units today.  Is this a pyramid scheme??

They certainly feed me and everyone well.  Several of the students volunteer to make part of lunch, so today it was lasagna, salad and fresh bread.

Oh yeah... can't forget dessert... mixed berry pie and there was also a strawberry rhubarb pie too!!

Back to sewing... Christy finished part of her Lone Star Unit.  It really makes a nice hat, don't you think?

Sarah's is bright and cheery all made from Kaffe Fassett fabrics.

Carolyn was just pleased she finally got to sew!!

Loved Sarah's bright binder clips... so I had to share.

Would you like to see more photos from yesterday?  Just click here to see!! Enjoy!

Until Next Time...

Variations....

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful National Quilting Day yesterday!!  I know I did, I spent the day teaching the Glacier Star Technique of the month at my CVQW Studio.

We had a great time, lots was accomplished and many laughs.  Several of the ladies brought in some goodies like green cupcakes (pistachio), blueberry cornbread, and Irish soda bread.

But what I loved the most was seeing the progress and the variations in every single quilt in the room.  Let's go on a short tour.

I have become quite smitten with this color way.  Gloria's quilt is mostly purple and green, but it is reading more black here.  This is just lovely!

Sue is doing this fabulous calm blue version, mixing in some Kaffe Fassett fabrics with batiks.

Jan's version has almost a southwestern feel.  Gorgeous colors.

Deb's is this beautiful bold purple with green and a splash of orange... LOVE!

Donna was able to get a ton accomplished today.  I am so loving her fabric choices too.  Can't wait to see it all done!

Anne's combo is bold and beautiful.  Loving the splash of orange.

Lisa's is fabulous!  Bright like I would do... she is naming this one fiesta.

Lil's color way is like none I have seen.  Soft yet bold!  Great job!

Edie's very soft version. This is also a non-batik quilt as well.

I have TONS more photos from yesterday, just click here to see them all.

I hope you all had a fantastic time celebrating National Quilting Day too!

Until Next Time...

What Is It About....??

Hello Everyone,

Our pets and our quilts?  They just seem to be attracted to fabric and quilts...

My cats feel the need to be in the thick of things.

And often tell me what I am doing wrong or right?

Anyway, I wonder how often this happens to you?

Click here to see the entire blog post about Pets and Quilts!!  You will find it on Quilt Magazine's blog, where I regularly blog.  Leave me a comment there with your thoughts and stories!

Until Next Time...
